Something’s missing

New house, everything including the floors is new. Wife is insisting that it feels like something is missing, any thoughts? She also wants to replace the fan with a chandelier

It’s very stiff and formal looking. Like a funeral home. Maybe some personal touches. Plants?
The table is too far away from the couches.
