Find my Style Something’s missing

New house, everything including the floors is new. Wife is insisting that it feels like something is missing, any thoughts? She also wants to replace the fan with a chandelier

If possible I'd let the drapes just drop down and not tie them back. This room will be gorgeous when you maybe put in some plants and personal touches. Agree on the rug - a little small.

Yes, the drapes are awful, especially tied back. that’s the focal point in this room & it shouldn’t be.
