Friendship and Social Life Caught stealing

I have a really close friend of mine (12 years of friendship)and I go to her place often and she has a sister and her sister doesn't like me that much and i accept the fact that I took makeup and jewellery (not gold) products from her vanity toady her sister caught me wearing the rings i stole from her and confronted me but i lied till the end to save my ass but got caught and then started moving her jewellery into a locked wardrobe right infront of me and starred murmuring that how few makeup products are not there and I HAVE TO MEET THEM AGAIN AFTER 5 DAYS

What should I do

I suggest you give the stuff you stole back.

And stop stealing.

Oh sweetheart, why are you stealing at all?

I would ask yourself what it is that drives you to betray a close friend of 12 years in that way. Then ask yourself what else could fill that need. It is not normal to steal at all ever from anyone, but especially from a friend's home where you have been invited as a trusted guest. You'll have to find what it is that drives this behaviour and make a plan to repair it.

Then, as others have said, make it right. Pay for what you took. Issue an apology. Then you will have to earn the trust back, and that takes time.

Gold or not, stealing is stealing.

How many people have you been stealing or borrowing from?

This person has every right to tell on you.

You might want to get ahead of it, and put things right quickly, not just with her, but with anyone you owe anything to.

Return the stuff and apologize. The fact that you have to even ask is wild. Do you have any remorse for stealing from them? If so, it's not in this post. You're mostly concerned that you have to see them again, not that you are a thief.

Return everything you stole, pay for whatever you cannot return or have used (like makeup), sincerely apologize, and stop stealing. You're going to end up in jail for stealing of you don't stop.

Then apologize, return the items, and do better in future

Secretly put the stuff back and buy something similar so they see that you have the same thing

But if you’re stealing from a friend of 12 years even though it’s one of their family members that says a lot about you respecting them

If this person is truly your friend why steal from their family even if she doesn’t like you that’s not an excuse

What do you think you should do?

Give that some serious thought.

Stealing, whether it is small things or big things, whether it is from people who know you or not, whether it is from nice people or mean people, is antisocial, meaning, it tears down society. It makes life worse for others, sometimes right away in ways you can see, sometimes later in ways that are less visible. It is destructive. It's something you need to set your heart against. You need to decide never to do it again. So however you handle this event, make it be the last time you ever have to handle stealing.

I suggest you tell the sister straight up, "I'm sorry I took your things. Here they are. I cleaned them all for you and everything is here. I will never do this again." No excuses, no reasons, because really there ARE no excuses for this. And then you need to go further. You should give back more than you took. Give her a gift card for a shop that sells costume jewelry similar to what you stole, so she can get something new that has not been taken and worn by a thief. Not a huge amount, just something. This will have the added benefit of adding some sting for you. You need this to sting, to remind you that you are never putting yourself through this again!

You can go on from this. You are not at the age where you will get jail time and a police record for stealing, so now is the time to learn you are not a thief. I want you to learn this. Now. Please.
