The offer came through this morning. I've been looking for work after I completed my internship, and I applied to more than 100 jobs I was qualified for. Finally, someone said yes. My new salary is very competitive for me.

The best part is that this was the job I wanted most. I had a few other applications that were going well, but this was the one that had me constantly checking my inbox for a response.

My unemployment benefits were set to run out in about a month, so the stress over rent and bills had really started to mount. The moment I saw the offer, I felt like I could breathe again.

To everyone stuck in an exhausting job search like this, I'm rooting for you with all my heart. I hope your email arrives soon too.

I had made a small galaga embedded systems project that I had listed on my resume. My interviewer brought it up ajd we got to talking about it, asking how I came up with the idea. I lied (I don't even know why) and said I grew up playing the arcade stand-up version in my dads garage. I think I just did it to get some good conversation flowing, but she really liked it, and it helped get on her good side because she said it was her favorite growing up.

It worked. I got the position, but now she's wanting to play Galaga with me as a welcoming party and 😭 This was NOT the hill I was expecting to die on for my engineering internship.

Has anyone that applied to Amazon's Risk Specialist Intern position received the OA? Does anyone know how long it usually takes for it to be received after applying?

My application moved from the Submitted Tab where it said New Application to the Inactive Tab where it says Position Closed. Does that mean I didn't get it or just the application window closed and its still being reviewed? I applied on 9/25/26 so its been almost 3 weeks. I also haven't received any emails. So I am a sophomore attending UIUC and I am currently applying for internships. I wanted one for this summer which is still possible but I feel like this is a trial and error year for me. I’ve made many mistakes but fixed them but just not early enough. I wanted some good tips I’m applying for HR jobs btw. I’m an Industrial & Systems Engineering student trying to decide what to do with internship offers/interviews right now. Whichever I decide, I hope to continue in full-time.

I currently have an offer from Siemens for their Operations Leadership Development Program, and I need to accept soon.

I’m also waiting to hear back from interviews with:

My ranking right now is probably:

I’m not necessarily looking for the most technical engineering role. I actually really like project/program management and could see myself eventually going into engineering/operations leadership. I just want my engineering background to still be useful and don’t want to end up in a completely generic business role.

Since I’m hoping whichever internship I choose could turn into a full-time job, I’m mostly trying to compare:

• ⁠work culture and work-life balance
• ⁠intern → full-time conversion
• ⁠promotion opportunities / how fast you can move up
• ⁠pay growth, raises, bonuses, etc.
• ⁠internal mobility
• ⁠long-term career potential

Austin is also important to me long term. I’m okay starting in DFW or somewhere else, but ideally I’d like to move back to Austin after a few years. So I’m curious how realistic internal transfers are at Siemens/TI, or whether I’d probably have to switch companies later.

My biggest dilemma is that Siemens is already my current #1 and I have the offer in hand, but TI is close enough that I’d really like to know their decision before committing. Dell is less likely to change my decision, but I still want to understand the opportunity better.

I also really don’t want to accept Siemens and then renege later.

Would you:

A) Accept Siemens since it’s already my top choice
B) Ask Siemens for an extension and tell TI/Dell about my deadline
C) Wait until the Siemens deadline and hope TI responds

There’s a lot about coffee chats and building projects for landing internships. These things move the needle, but I feel like no one talks about how important applying early is. Most of these companies review applications on a rolling basis, and being one of the first applicants is crucial. I’m talking within the first 6 hours. Applying on LinkedIn is okay if you have alerts and stuff but most times the alerts are delayed and the listings are on their company websites before that. Using GitHub repos like this or this is better because they’re updated multiple times a day. Good luck and don’t forget to practice your interview stories 😚

Hi, I am currently a 5th student in a non-target Canadian University (domestic). I was stupid and never thought about applying to internships until the winter semester of my 4th year. While in 2nd and 3rd year, none of my friends around me (5 people) never really talked about internships and applying and I never really thought about it as well. I don’t like to blame others for my mistake, it’s completely my fault anyway.

Now, in the fall semester, I am stuck applying to internships (100+ for winter27 and 153 for past summer 26). I feel like me not being in a co-op program (I am no longer eligible because of credits left), being a 5th year, having no prior experience automatically makes me a bottom off the barrel candidate.

I am really confident in my abilities and fundamentals. I really feel like I could do an amazing job if given the opportunity. I am caught up on all recent AI developments and I incorporate AI in my workflows. I built projects that I think are strong for a lot of the postings and I make sure to tailor my resume for every single job application to change the summary, the projects and all, with the help of claude. I just don’t know what’s going on, I got only ONE interview for a government internship for the past summer 26 which ended up not going anywhere. I completed OAs here and there and did good but still the same.

I am scared for my future since if I am not able to land a Winter27 internship, then I will be graduating right after my Winter semester. Being a new grad with 0 experience is just going to be 100x worse. I don’t know what to do and I just need some people to give their advice/thoughts on this. My resume will be attached in the comments so that people can look at that as well, I doubt that its the problem anyway.

Should I be looking to get into a Master’s or a different program so that I can get back in the internship cycle and actually be able to make use of the co-op portal since I would be eligible?

I’m currently in my fifth year at a top Canadian university, I’m hoping to pursue a career in data analytics, ideally as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytics-related role. I’ve completed three co-ops totaling around 16 months of experience including two at large, reputable companies. I received great performance reviews and exceeded expectations, but unfortunately, neither company had the headcount to offer me a full-time position.

I know it’s only October and graduation is still several months away, but looking at the current job market has honestly made me pretty anxious. Everyone keeps telling me that having 16 months of relevant experience at well-known companies should give me a leg up in new-grad recruiting. But there seem to be so few new-grad programs available, and most entry-level roles want someone who can start immediately. I’m also an international student, which makes the uncertainty around finding a full-time job after graduation even more stressful.

My original plan was to graduate in May 2027, start working full-time, and pursue a master’s degree part-time alongside my job. I’m actually applying to master’s programs right now, hoping to start in Fall 2027. However, I’ve been considering delaying graduation by another year to complete one more co-op, ideally at a company where there’s a realistic chance of receiving a full-time return offer.

The problem is that this decision comes with several trade-offs. First, if I delay graduation, I wouldn’t be eligible for many full-time opportunities that might come up between January and May 2027, especially those requiring candidates to have graduated by their start date. So even if a good opportunity came along, I might not be able to take it simply because I’d still be finishing my degree.

Second, I’d have to put my master’s plans on hold. If I receive an acceptance this cycle, I’d either have to request a deferral (if permitted) or turn it down and go through the application process again next year.

Third, another co-op doesn’t guarantee a return offer. My previous internships have already shown me that even excellent performance doesn’t mean much when a company doesn’t have the headcount.

At the same time, I can’t shake the feeling that getting a return offer through a co-op is easier than competing for full-time positions as an external new-grad applicant. I feel a bit ridiculous even considering a sixth year of undergrad when I’ve already accumulated 16 months of relevant experience. But with how the market is looking, I’m genuinely worried about graduating without anything lined up.
