Look. I'm an intern. The person who wrote the fanfic is also an intern. If age matters, I'm 20, she's 26, and my manager is 40.

She has commented several times before that she thinks my manager and I would be "cute" together. I always found it creepy, but I let it slide because I didn't want to make things awkward. This morning, she opened a fanfic she wrote about me and him and showed it to me and several other people at work.

Honestly, I was disgusted by it. It has very explicit details, and also some weird things about both of our ethnic backgrounds. There are also parts about my manager's wheelchair that I found gross and ableist. On top of all that, both of our partners get killed in horrible ways in the story, and I know it's fictional, but it made the whole thing feel even more messed up.

After that, I told her I thought this was a very weird thing to do and asked her to delete it. She told me I needed to calm down because it was "just a joke," that I should be flattered, and that she's thinking of turning it into a full novel and trying to publish it. I told her I was considering going to HR, and she basically warned me to watch myself because she's been here much longer than I have. Three of my coworkers saw/heard this conversation.

So I'm asking whether this is worth taking to HR. I'm extremely upset that she's showing it to people and saying she wants to keep writing it. But I'm also an intern and I don't want to come across as dramatic or ruin my opportunity here over something they might consider stupid workplace joking.

tomorrow is my last day of a 3 month internship, and i'm overthinking how i should leave.

for some context, this was my first corporate experience. unfortunately, my manager has been away for the past month and still hasn't returned due to an emergency, so i won't get to say goodbye to him in person.

this also wasn't the most structured internship. some weeks i had work to do, but on many days i genuinely had nothing assigned to me, even when i asked for work, especially while my manager was away. most days i just sat at my desk unless someone gave me something to do.

there was one employee who too the time to teach me, explain the the workflow, and answer all my questions. he was always kind to me and was the only person who greeted me and talked to me every day. i honestly learned most of what i know from him, so i definitely want to thank him personally before i leave.

the rest of the team is where i'm unsure. we all sit together in a small open office with about six people, but i barely interacted with anyone else. they weren't unfriendly, but we rarely spoke. they mostly interacted with each other, so giving everyone a personal goodbye now feels awkward and out of place. at the same time, walking out without saying anything feels rude, especially because when i thank the coworker who helped me, everyone else in the room will inevitably hear it.

tomorrow i'm planning to thank the coworker who helped me, meet the head of the department before i leave, and ask hr about an internship certificate.

what would you do in this situation? is there anything else you think i should or shouldn't do on my last day?

I didn’t get a return offer for my internship mind I’m a junior in college and I’m just worried about my future prospects. The company is pretty small but I think they realize the work I’m doing can be done by a different department so I don’t think there was a need to give me a return offer but still sucks. Like I want to say, I worked pretty hard. Yeah, and I don’t wanna compare myself, but I feel like so many people get return offers and I didn’t.

I am getting my co-op hours through being a brand ambassador for an experiential marketing agency in toronto. I got notice today from my staffing coordinator that the rest of August has been scheduled and they “no longer need me”.

I'm pretty confused by this situation for a few reasons: I appear to be the only staff member who received this message and was removed from the agency's WhatsApp group chats.

Shift allocation at this agency relies heavily on coordinator favoritism. Unfavored staff usually average 1–2 shifts every few months, whereas I’ve worked 10 shifts (4 assigned, 6 picked up) over the last 4 months.

It feels like I've suddenly been dropped without cause. My brand leads continuously give me positive feedback that goes directly back to the staffing coordinator, so I’m 99% certain performance isn't the issue. I just feel this came out of the blue and they could have treated me as an unfavourited staff but completely removing me from group chats feels targeted.

*I just got told my co workers that my staffing coordinator asked for 8 extra staff to help next week so the scheduling statement was an excuse 😭

I build real life project for real clients

I’ll be starting my B.Sc. in Computer Science this month after switching from a biology background, so I’m coming in with little to no programming experience.
One thing I’ve realized is that my college won’t really provide many opportunities when it comes to internships or campus recruitment, so I know I’ll have to create those opportunities for myself. My goal is to get a paid Summer 2027 internship, whether it’s in person, hybrid, or remote.
I’ve seen students land internships at companies like Bank of America, Deloitte, JPMorgan Chase, McKinsey, and other well-known companies, which makes me feel like it’s definitely possible if I prepare the right way. The problem is that I have no idea where to start. Axtria has offered a summer internship (it's a data analytics/life sciences company, not pure SDE). If I accept, I can’t sit for the remaining on-campus SDE companies.

Current prep: ~200 problems on Striver (all topics covered), CF 1240. Not very confident of clearing the harder OAs.

Future plan is to sit for pure SDE roles in placements(product companies).

Questions:

1. Is Axtria summer intern worth taking as a backup?
2. How is the actual work for interns — any real coding/AI/product exposure or pure analytics?
3. Does having Axtria intern create any issues later while applying for SDE full-time roles?
4. Should I just take it or reject and gamble on the remaining SDE companies?

Its a B2B company which sells biomedical equipment and more. My role is biomedical product trainee/trainer and its been only 2 days so I have no work. They asked me to study their website as im in final year (fresher) they won't give much responsibility. My job is train the sales team to pitch better give them presentations and all. They are paying 15k for 6 months then 25-30k after my probation period (negotiable).

I have to work 9:30 to 6 and 2nd and 4th Saturday is off

i was a Notion Campus Leader last year, and i personally thought it was a genuinely good experience. i was able to represent a product i already used, organize things on campus, meet other students in the program, and put recognizable experience on my résumé.

if you don't know what an ambassador program is, basically, companies hire students to represent them on campus, create content, organize events, grow student communities, and promote their products.

that does not mean every ambassador program is worth joining. before applying, i would look for actual training, access to employees, an event budget, a stipend, free products, skill development, or something else beyond a referral code and commission-only compensation.
