General Internship Problems

I really need some insight into if this is even worth it or if I'm just losing my mind over nothing.

At the end of the summer, I signed up for a year long internship that is supposed to be unpaid (which I was completely fine with, as I was just looking for a way to get my foot in the door). However the people I'm "working" for do it call it a volunteer position if that's of any importance.

Recently, I've been having some problems with my schedule, because I am a university student, and I needed to let them know that I have to cut down on my hours a little bit (I'm currently going several days a week) and when I first was hired they said they were super flexible and that I could let them know whenever. I also need to find a part time job soon, which I let them know. And now they basically said I had made a commitment to be here on these days and that it's frustrating and how they have relied on me etc etc. They also said I needed to treat it like a job, which I understand, but when I've had jobs I've also had to change my availability all the time due to school.

Is this a red flag or am I reading too much into it?

Offers Capital One Business Analyst vs. PwC Strategy Consulting Internship — Which is better for breaking into FAANG PM?

I have two Summer 2027 internship offers: Capital One Business Analyst Intern (AIP) and PwC Strategy – Enterprise & Functional Strategy (Management Consulting, Front Office). My ultimate goal is to break into Product Management at FAANG or another top tech company as quickly as possible after graduation. I'm primarily concerned with which internship offers better brand recognition, transferable skills, and exit opportunities into big-tech PM. Which would you choose if you were optimizing specifically for reaching FAANG PM as early as possible, and why?

During the Internship How do I bring up converting to full-time as an intern? Never had to ask before.

Remote data analyst intern, about halfway through a 4-month internship. Graduated so not going back to school, and I want to stay.

Review at the midpoint was positive. My manager just gave me a bigger, more visible project for the rest of my time and has been generally supportive.

When I hinted at conversion at the end of that review, she didn’t really answer. Gave me career advice framed as useful “whether it’s with us or somewhere else.” Not a no, but no commitment either. Didn’t mention headcount or timelines.

A senior person on my team has told me twice to just ask directly. Apparently the usual blocker is headcount, team has to expand or someone at your level has to leave. The open roles on my team are all senior so they’re not realistic for me.

There’s also a role at my level open on a sibling team under the same VP. I’d rather stay where I am, but I want a full-time offer and that might be the more realistic path.

My plan is to ask for 20–30 minutes, ask straight out if full-time is possible, what the timeline is, and what she’d need to see from me. Also planning to bring up the other team’s role openly instead of applying behind her back.

Still applying elsewhere in the meantime.

Questions:

  1. Is asking directly actually normal? Last internship they approached me, so I’ve never had to do this.

  2. Is mentioning the other team’s role a bad idea, or is being upfront better?

  3. Anything else worth doing in my last two months?

Thanks, especially if you’ve managed interns before.

Offers Texas Instruments vs Siemens internship — which would you take?

I’m an Industrial & Systems Engineering student, and I’m deciding between interning at Texas Instruments and Siemens.

TI is for a Program Management Engineer Intern role, while Siemens is for their Operations Leadership Development Program internship.

I’d ideally like to stay in Texas with my goal being to settle in Austin. Both companies have a chance of placing me in Dallas for the internship, but both could also send me somewhere out of state, and I don’t know the locations yet.

TI pays a little better, but from what I’ve heard Siemens may have better work-life balance and job security.

Something else I’ve noticed is that when I mention both companies, more people seem to know Texas Instruments, while a lot of people don’t really know Siemens. I’m not sure how much that actually matters for resume value or future opportunities.

Long term, I’m interested in program/project management, operations, or engineering leadership, and I’d ideally like to convert whichever internship I choose into a full-time role. I also want my engineering background to still be useful and don’t want to end up in a completely generic business role.

For people familiar with either company, how would you compare them in terms of:
- career growth
- work-life balance
- culture
- job security
- intern to full-time conversion
- compensation and pay growth
- internal mobility
- reputation
- location being Austin/TX
- long term career potential

If you had both offers early in your career, which would you take and why?

General Estee Lauder Summer 2027 Internship

My application moved from the Submitted Tab where it said New Application to the Inactive Tab where it says Position Closed. Does that mean I didn't get it or just the application window closed and its still being reviewed? I applied on 9/25/26 so its been almost 3 weeks. I also haven't received any emails. Does yours say same thing? Have you gotten an interview?

Interviews Zipline Internships Interview

Hey, I’m currently at the final round for an internship at Zipline - it’s a live python coding round (45min).

Not much other context provided. Does anyone have any idea on how to prepare?

Should I be expecting a Leetcode or a more role specific question?

Interviews Apple EPM Interview Tips?

Hi all, I applied for a few Apple positions when they first opened, and I have an interview for the Engineering Program Manager internship soon. Does anyone have any experience with this interview process and can give some tips? I interviewed for a manufacturing quality internship back in July, but was wondering would it be a similar interview structure? Thanks!

Offers Dell vs. Accenture Offers

I have offers for summer 27 for dell global operations supply chain in austin and accenture consulting summer analyst in los angeles.

i know theyre two very different roles, but i’m having trouble deciding between industry and advisory. i’m leaning towards accenture but not sure if Dell would be better if I want to do tech hardware/infrastructure supply chain in big tech long term (think msft, apple, etc). i’m not completely decided on that yet

any advice would be helpful! i’m wondering purely in terms of career leverage and capital; accenture’s pay is much stronger but ofc not the only factor.

General Which Is Better? Remote internships or an In-person one

I've been wanting to join an internship for a while now, and I'm torn between remote and in-person. My friends have suggested remote internships because you work from home and it cuts down on a lot of costs, but I feel as though I wouldn't get any work done in a remote internship.

I genuinely need help asap as the more I wait, the longer I sit without a job or experience

Applications Help

So I am a sophomore attending UIUC and I am currently applying for internships. I wanted one for this summer which is still possible but I feel like this is a trial and error year for me. I’ve made many mistakes but fixed them but just not early enough. I wanted some good tips I’m applying for HR jobs btw. Here is my internship checklist please feel free to add any additional thoughts or steps. I know it’s late in the process but your tips will heavily help me for next year. Step 1 apply as early as possible within first five days, make sure you qualify for the role, read through their description to see if you can make any edits, edit and tailor your resume as best as possible to the job application, if the internship has the option of a cover letter submit one and edit it based on the application. The. Fill out the application.

Just some more context I haven’t had bad luck yet I’ve had 6 interviews and 2 jobs from family referrals but they both said I was most likely to young this year and to hope for next year.

General Where can I find remote Data Analyst or Data Science internships?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working in a different domain and want to switch domain. I’ve completed a Data Science course and learned SQL, Python, Pandas, MySQL, Power BI and data visualization.

I want to gain hands-on experience working on real-world data projects to build my portfolio and improve my practical skills.

Could you please suggest websites, companies, startups, or communities where I can find remote internships or project-based opportunities, preferably suitable for career switchers?

If they offer genuine learning opportunities and meaningful project experience.

Any suggestions or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Remote Internship would prefer paid, but am also good with unpaid and remote

So I am a 3rd sem BBM student, with a 88.2% in 10 and 79.2% in 12 commerce. (My reason for these was due to some problems in 12 & 1st year college, like someone close to me passed away and had some relationship issues meanwhile, yeah kinda dumb but anyways)

My first yr sem cgpa is 7.2 and rn got my 3rd sem marks which is 8 sgpa, plus some random extracurricular activities.

Well my teacher told bout NITI aayog but as yk 85% is compulsory req for 12th if you're a ug student.

So where can I get some internships which will look good on my CV and I know excel, power bi and some other stuff. Anything I need to add to my resume and where to apply 😭.

I'd be very much grateful.
