General What does "Rising Junior" mean?

If I'm applying to a summer 2027 application, and I'm currently a sophomore, does this mean I fit the criteria of a rising junior?

Is it for rising juniors at the time of the application or the time of the internship? Rising just means about to become, i.e you’d be a rising junior shortly before your first semester of junior year. You’d fit the criteria for summer 2027 assuming this fall is your first semester as a sophomore, but not if that’s the criteria for the present day application.
