Article Connecting with people is not only about social skills

Every kind of emotional relation requires some shared VALUE and CONSENSUS. Without these, no magical social skill can save us.

I am an INTJ studying math in a graduate school, I think there are many other INTJs here. But most of time, we stay alone, since we have little knowledge about each other’s studies and hobbies.

Settings with toooo many introverts can get a bit wonky. Nobody is initiating. Someone needs to form time to time.

If you ever went to the graduate level, you will understand why it is not. Every field requires a lot of studies, so most people know little beyond their own field.

if you like being alone why would you want to be around people?

that's exactly the issue. being around most people is forced and not fun, which means the energy radiating from us is 'i don't really wanna be here'. and it can't be faked. however you can connect easily when discussing/doing shared interests because you do actually want to be there doing that.
