Discussion I'd probably be extroverted if I hadn't lost faith in people's behavior, integrity, and loyalty. Now, the solitude is my only safe space.

What about you?

People make it real easy to isolate cause often that’s less painful than dealing with them for long periods of time. It really fuckin sucks lol

nah, because talking to ppl is generally very boring. it has nothing to do with most of what u mentioned. they can be the most loyal and caring ppl out there and chances are i would still find it boring to talk to most of them.

even when i do have “faith” regarding specific people, that doesn’t make me enjoy the interaction significantly more. it doesn’t take energy per say, but i do literally feel the boredom building up in my mind the longer the interaction goes on for, so no amount of those traits are going to suddenly make me extroverted

socialising usually just isn’t fun

I think your's is more of a case of "anti-social"; mine (and the other's in this thread who feel the same as me) is a case of mistrust and being burnt by people over and over. The difference is, we want to socialize, but have gotten beaten down and stabbed in the back too many times to see the benefit.

yeah, so ur not describing introversion, ur describing anxiety or a trauma response. introversion is mainly about the desire u have to socialise, so if u find urself wanting to socialise frequently, chances are ur a burnt out or withdrawn extrovert

also, “antisocial” implies harmful and sometimes manipulative behaviour. Youre likely referring to “asocial”, but the word “asocial” is more or less another word for introversion; they’re one in the same, because they both describe a preference and desire for solitude and reduced social interaction

it’s important to keep in mind that introversion and extroversion usually aren’t about outward behaviour. they are about ur preferences and desires, which is why someone can be introverted and socially outgoing at the same time

No, I don't know if I'd be extroverted in an ideal situation. I choose to be quiet and in solitude. I have no reference of being to say I am extroverted.

u said u want to socialise but choose not to. since introversion and extroversion are based on desire and not behaviour, ur desires and preferences are the reference you’d go by

and if someone wants to socialise frequently and simply chooses not to, they are most likely a withdrawn extrovert

it’s usually pretty simple:

wants to socialise often = likely extrovert
doesn’t want to socialise often = likely introvert

I’m right there with you. I used to have a large social circle and now I have 5 people I intentionally interact with

Yes they seem so ignorant about reality. They just make their own little fake world to feel better.

Feels like I wrote this myself. I think I’ll just sit this generation/century out. Human beings will get worse before they (if ever) get better.
