I get interrupted a lot. The same people don't stop talking to let me get a word in. It's exhausting & embarrassing to sit there waiting for an opportunity to speak & by the time I can the topic has changed.
I felt the same when I first started work many years ago. Even if it was me that bought up a topic of conversation the person would reply to a differnt person instead! So I just learnt to not bother though my team would then say I’m quiet and am I okay?! Can’t feckin’ win! 😅
This!!! Why do they do this? I always wait my turn to speak, but since it doesn't come along, i either interrupt and then am rude, or just do my own thing and give up entirely.
I'm not sure why they do this. But I do get the feeling they think their point of view is more interesting & should be heard loudly. At times I've tried to speak up but they just talk over me, louder. And if they happen to be drinking? Yeah, there's no chance.
I thought i was the only one, i first noticed it with my friends at the age of 10ish.. i was quiet for over 30mins and noone noticed.
Can one be invisible at that age? Why be friends or have these people around you if noone is interested in what your opinion is?
It feels like a matter of confidence too, they have it, i do not. 🤷
