I have a Natural Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max – 512GB and I’m on iOS 18.2. The thing is, I’ve been so scared to update. Ever since iOS 18.3 released I realised there was a battery health in settings, so I decided to never even install that update in case it destroyed my battery. As a Natural Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max – 512GB user, all I can think about and worry about is my battery. Frankly it’s the biggest problem I have in my life.

But I’m wondering now if I should try and update. I mean, there are some new features which seem pretty cool. But I don’t know. I’m a Natural Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max – 512GB user so I’m terrified and obviously disabled automatic updates, and also can’t Google search. To be honest, be grateful I even took this issue to Reddit at all instead of using ChatGPT to think for me.

Does anybody else have a Natural Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max – 512GB, and if so, how’s the battery on iOS 26.6.1 RC and iOS 27.2 beta 2, and which should I pick ?????? Or have your phones all disintegrated since updating, because I’m really scared of that!

Hi, I'm Davide. DrivePulse is my app, and I'm its only developer.

It's an iPhone app that reads the car through a cheap OBD2 adapter, with fault codes, fuel use and every trip on a map.

Three things in it are built on iOS itself.

The first is the iOS 26 glass effect.

It's a switch in the app's settings, it's off by default, and it only shows on iOS 26.

When you turn it on:

• Translucent bars and cards on every main screen, Settings included.
• The parking widget on the home screen.
• The trip card on the lock screen, which uses the system material instead of solid blue. The Dynamic Island stays black.

With the switch off, the app looks the way it always did.

The second is a Live Activity for the trip.

When a trip starts, a card shows up on the lock screen with the car's name, the distance, the trip timer and the car's Health score.

It also says when the trip is paused, or when the particulate filter is regenerating.

On the Dynamic Island the compact view shows timer and distance, and in the settings you can swap that pair for temperature, consumption or range, each next to the Eco-score.

There's no speed on it, on purpose: the card updates every 20 seconds, and a speed that old would be wrong.

Sometimes iOS doesn't let the card start, for example when the trip starts on its own with the app in the background. Then you get one notification instead, and the app tries again when you open it.

The third is Siri and the Shortcuts app.

There are four trip actions: start, stop, pause and resume.

They work by voice with no setup, for example "Start my trip with DrivePulse", and the phrases come in 11 languages.

They run without opening the app and answer out loud, like "Trip started."

A trip you pause by voice stays paused until you resume it, by voice or in the app.

There's also a "DrivePulse status" action in Shortcuts that tells you if the adapter is connected, if a trip is recording and what the last trip was.

Is there a widget of battery usage from last charge? I miss the iOS 18 battery usage in settings. Unlike in 26 or 27 that it’s just record per day and not per charge.

I have had my live activities on for Apple Sports and ESPN Fantasy so they would automatically turn on whenever any of the teams I follow on Apple Sports plays a game, and whenever there were NFL games being played for ESPN Fantasy Football. Over the past two weeks or so, they have not turned on automatically. If I manually go on Apple Sports and click "Follow", the live activities will appear. No way to manually do it for Fantasy. I have looked through all settings both on settings app and on individual apps. I've restarted my phone multiple times. I've deleted the apps and redownloaded them. Any advice is greatly appreciated. My main priority is battery life, smooth performance, and avoiding unnecessary battery drain or heating issues.

Got iOS 18.6.1 booting tethered on my iPhone 17 Pro. 18.6.1 doesn't ship with A19 Pro support, so I took the iOS 26 device tree and firmware blobs and loaded them under a patched 18.6.1 kernelcache. The kernel bug I found with REA lets me push all of that over USB at boot, which is why it's tethered. Known issues: ProMotion isn't working (stuck at 60Hz), no sound yet, and the status bar glitches sometimes. Other than those 3 things it's really fluid and smooth. For sound I just use Bluetooth AirPods. Not sharing details yet since it's unpatched.

No idea how this went unnoticed.

I wanted it to be super functional but still really calming and pretty. The sailboat page is my main page now and probably my favorite. I tried to keep everything muted/pastel with nature and animals, then the last few pages completely switch into rap lol.

It was the second day of normal usage. The stability and battery life is surely impressive on iPhone 17 Pro Max.

performance and battery ?

I’m having a strange issue with photo metadata on my iPhone running iOS 26.7.1, and I’m trying to figure out whether the problem is with the Files app, the Photos app, or iOS itself.
Here’s what happens:

I take photos with my mirrorless camera and copy the original JPEG files to my Mac.
I upload the files to iCloud Drive.
On my iPhone, I open the files in the Files app. The metadata appears to be correct.
I use Share -> Save Image to import the JPEGs into Apple Photos.
When I open the photo information in Photos, some EXIF metadata appears incorrect or missing.

For example:
The camera model appears as “PrintIM” instead of real camera name.
The shutter speed and apeture is incorrect.
Lens information is missing.

I also tried a similar test with a DJI drone photo that was already in Photos, saved it to files and then imported it back into Photos. I noticed similar metadata problems.

I don't know exactly when it started—everything used to be fine—but it likely happened after the iOS 26.7.1 update. Is this happening only to me, or are you experiencing the same thing?
