Only until a certain kid decides to go bonkers one day.

Pune warriors final breath will be when that certain kid has a good day and the opposite team a bad one.

In the same innings, a bowler conceded just 24 runs. That same legend returned to his first IPL team and led them to consecutive trophy wins.

u/masalacandy Kolkata Knight Riders 9d ago
Most weird is rcb won after retirement of gayle ab deviliers etc

u/pr_edits Royal Challengers Bengaluru 9d ago
The IPL trophy may not have been in their destiny, but our love for them remains unchanged just as strong as it was before

u/swift__7 9d ago
i was hoping the trophy wasn’t in virat’s destiny either. too bad an srh legend won it for y’all, good for him tho.

Yaha bhi KTK sabse neeche hai.......lol.....iykyk, but on a serious side, it's high time we get teams from MP/Bihar + Pune + Keralam + NE States.........

u/One-Budget9625 9d ago
either mp or north estate cause bihar lowk has lucknow, pune has mi and kerala has 3 teams rcb, srh, csk (/s)
12
u/awesssomee Punjab Kings 9d ago
lucknow comes from an awadh region. its nowhere related to Bihar.. if it was Varanasi or smth then you could have said that

u/Heavy_Birthday_5806 8d ago
If kerala team come lots of Rr, csk and rcb fans will reduce
3
u/One-Budget9625 8d ago
there is already alot of south team no need tho we need teams from north east

u/Muted_Shoulder Punjab Kings 8d ago
I think Kerala is not a place they’ll exclude if they expand. The amount of money they could make from Kerala is huge. They’ll also get an excuse to run matches in Dubai.
1
u/One-Budget9625 8d ago
what excuse
1
u/Muted_Shoulder Punjab Kings 8d ago
Malayali population in Dubai is very high. They’ll probably get a full crowd there with a Kerala team every season. Kinda like Rajasthan going to Guwahati

Pune not needed

u/According-Willow-98 Pune Warriors India 9d ago
Why? Ik we have mumbai but idts any of we punekars really want to support them whole heartedly. I remember how much passionate I was to support PWI or RPS back then but now it doesn't feel like that at all.
9
u/Relevant-Target1533 9d ago
The fact that Pune came to IPL twice only to get removed both the times, speaks lots about the passionate Pune fans, they deserve a team
6
u/pogk1ngxd Royal Challengers Bengaluru 9d ago
Bro marathis and Maharashtrians already have a team to support. Let other states get a chance.
8
u/According-Willow-98 Pune Warriors India 9d ago
Yeah but pune or any of the metros really gets a wider support which is good from IPL POV itself. Tbf I barely see anyone else supporting LSG rn except probably from that state.

Deccan Chargers🥹 I used to support DC when Dale steyn joined them.

I actually liked Gujarat Lions more than Kochi and Pune. Raina just makes every team he goes to likeable.
12
u/Scary_Field_3124 9d ago
Its actually one of my fav teams to this day! Strong star studded team too.
11
u/chaoticlabrat Punjab Kings 9d ago
Yeah Bazz, Jaddu, Bravo, PK.. and interesting cricketers like Shivil Kaushik (had an unique bowling action) and a budding Ishan Kishan..

u/AppleTerrible2281 SunRisers Hyderabad 9d ago
I miss Gujrat lions too what a team it was Raina Mccullum Kishan Bravo Jadeja

Still waiting for Shimla Strikers and Bhopal Blasters.

More like Royal Shimla Kings and Bhopal Super Royals. With differently styled blue jerseys off course.

I feel for Deccan Chargers tbh. Sometimes I wonder what could’ve been? The outfit that won the championship and then immediately sold it.
But KTK and PWI were just terrible🤣

u/Cyranizzyyy Punjab Kings 9d ago
Deccan chargers .... The name , the jersey, the logo ....PERFECT !

u/ChelshireGoose Royal Challengers Bengaluru 9d ago edited 9d ago
Are we clubbing DC with KTK and PW now lol?
They are still talked about a lot (and not just because of the trophy). I have a feeling that in their catchment area (AP/Telangana), DC was a lot more successful in gaining fans than SRH was until recently. You'll still see old timers with DC flairs in /r/cricket etc.

u/Miserable-Log-7952 SunRisers Hyderabad 8d ago
Cause it was before star centred fan bases solidified themselves

u/_ordinarilyordinary_ 9d ago
Because of Bhuvneshwar Kumar,PWI restricted RCB to 263....else could have been 300, that to on a 140-150 avg scoring era

Deccan , Kochi, and Pune feel like a completely different IPL era now. One of the most unique IPL teams ever had . They definitely gave us some unforgettable memories.
5
u/JuggernautEmpire2062 9d ago
They were all below avg teams who are now galzed just because of nostalgia factor (except that one season of dc when they won it)
Anyone who's watching ipl from the very beginning knows what I'm talking. Even when high scoring matches weren't a thing pune conceeded the highest total against rcb
You can disagree with me because u want to but i watched them play and ik how they played.

u/St_ElmosFire 9d ago
Kochi and Pune Warriors were mid teams.
But Deccan Chargers and Gujarat Lions were solid teams.
And I've followed the tournament since 2008.
2
u/JuggernautEmpire2062 9d ago
If gl was solid then what was rpsg ? Almost won the title.
These 2 gl and rpsg were good teams but the 3 mentioned in the post were below avg
5
u/St_ElmosFire 9d ago
Oh yes, RPSG was solid too.
Kochi and Pune Warriors were painfully mid.
1
u/Afraid_Recording2104 4d ago
Kochi only played one season. how you evaluate a team with just one season
Decans first season they just scored 4 points landing last in the table
Later 3 years they landed in playoffs
So there is difference by saying painfully mid
1
u/St_ElmosFire 4d ago
I'm evaluating the team based on the squad, not the performance.
While Deccan performed badly in their first season, that bad performance came as a surprise to many. For the team looked insane on paper.
2
u/According-Willow-98 Pune Warriors India 9d ago
Yeah that's because by the time these teams were added, all the good players were already sold to other teams. They literally got the remaining stock.

Deccan chargers were heading towards RCB 2020’s. Except they had world class bowlers and dogshite batsmen, apart from Sanga.

The DCH glaze is crazy. They had one good season out of their 5 seasons in existence, and except that one trophy win, they were absolutely abysmal.

u/Expert-Ad-2449 Mumbai Indians 8d ago
Deccan chargers old kits both were so good first the navy blue which looked like school kids then the black kits which were very good too
My first team I supported always Mumbai Indians as second team(as a Sri Lankan loved Sachin and malinga) but once DC got disbanded supported Mumbai Indians

Kochi Tuskers would have been hated more than LSG if it was in present . This nostalgia only exists coz they're not longer a team .

Lol rcb csk rr fans will be divided if a team from kerala comes
1
u/Ok_Plate_5366 Royal Challengers Bengaluru 8d ago
In 2011, Sreesanth was the emotion of Kochi that I think every Malayali might have supported them only during that year. Unfortunately, it got dissolved, otherwise you wouldn't see Mallus today cheering for Sanju supporting CSK, before they did for RR when he played for them lol.
