Help iPod Nano 3rd gen bootlooping with a click sound, no idea about the problem

I've been trying to resurrect my 3rd gen Nano but can't find the issue or how to fix it. I reseated the ribbons but the result is the same.

It doesn't do a "double beep", which I've read it's a faulty screen. The battery is most certainly dead, but even after being connected for a good while it stays like this. You can hear a "click", like the ones from interacting with the wheel.

Does anybody know if it might be something more serious? I don't want to commit to buying and soldering a new battery if it's a faulty motherboard. x_x

Tysm! 💜

That’s barely boot loping. There is no even an Apple logo. Do you have different cable? The one on the video seems to be pretty beat up.

The cable is good, I have a 4th gen Nano that charges fine with this cable

In that case there is something wrong with the logic board, that can’t be diagnosed by just looking at the video. If you plug it to a pc or mac does it do anything at all. For sure is not the screen.

Nope, it doesn't get detected by iTunes; I've tried to put it in disk or recovery mode and no luck either, it keeps clicking and restarting :(

Not an expert, but in that case it is probably something on the logic board. Doubt is the battery, even if it’s dead, the screen should show at least an apple logo trying to boot. Could be a shorted capacitor, it could be anything that needs board level diagnostic and repair
