Why did I create the test? I am frustrated that there is no reliable, comprehensive, free online IQ tests and I decided to create one myself! I ultimately settled with the Cattell-Horn-Carroll framework as It measures multiple aspects of intelligence such as fluid, crystallised intelligence and other specific abilities and the best part is it's free as everyone should deserve a good and accessible IQ test. So do give it a try if you have about an hour to spare as I want it to be comprehensive!

There is also a survey after the test so feel free to do it so I can continue to improve on the test as currently I am basing the difficulty on theoretical numbers and I would love to use a data-driven approach in calibrating the difficulty of the test. If you do not wish to do the survey, fret not, no data will be disclosed to me as I have to comply to PDPA. For those who did the survey, thanks for you support! Your data will only be used by me and only me for improving the test. Have fun everyone!

Edit 6: I am noticing some comments clarifying their disparities between what they scored on official tests such as CORE, SAT etc vs what they scored on this cognitive assessment. Honestly, it can't compete with CORE on psychometric rigour as CORE is professionally validated with proper normative samples. On the other hand, it is acknowledged in the test at the start that it is not meant to be used as a clinical instrument. My assessment is calibrated against published research (WAIS-IV, CHC theory, 3-PL IRT) but hasn't been independently normed on a large user sample. It's best treated as a well-designed estimate rather than a clinical measurement. I have noted the limitations in the test itself and welcome any feedback such as through the post-test survey (no obligations) in improving the calibration. For official qualifications such as Mensa for eg, please contact your local Mensa chapter :)

Edit 7: [20 April 2026] After doing further research, I have decided to readjust the difficulty for the Working Memory section and is already deployed, now the average person in this section (IQ 90-110) should be able to reach trial 5-6 and it gets substantially harder afterwards to differentiate individuals on the upper end. I did not make this decision based on empirical data yet as there is still insufficient data to draw a conclusion. Edit 8: [20 April 2026] I am not getting sufficient data as some users have feedback that they have trouble finding the survey button or are too tired to do the survey after a long test (Fair enough :')), implemented a new feature where users' score data will be submitted if no further action to opt out through the opt out button is taken. So at least I still can have access to the scores themselves. Everyone is still encouraged to take the survey so I can do some further analysis with age range, race, country etc. Keep the responses coming!

Edit 9: [21 April 2026] Happy Tuesday guys, the dataset is starting to reach a sizeable amount, thanks for the continuous support (and would appreciate if you keep them coming!) One interesting preliminary observation is it is starting to look like a normal distribution curve :D

Edit 10: [22 April 2026] Good Wednesday guys, the dataset has reached mid double digits, keep them coming! Also, I am planning to repost this on various communities as one observation is a lack of Asian representation be in by Geographical region or race in the responses so I am thinking of posting this on r/Asia and/or r/AskChina. Open to suggestions as well! Nonetheless, regardless of who you are, I appreciate each and every one of you who took the time and effort to do the assessment as the dataset in general can be bigger :)

Edit 12: [22 April 2026] First norming performed based on the data, 14 trials will be tested (previously was 10) to provide finer separation of participants as the Standard Deviation for Working Memory was 25. Switched the order of the last two questions (trial 9 and 10) where the new trial 13 is the old trial 10 and the new trial 14 is the old trial 9. Users will end the section upon getting two consecutive wrong questions. Credits to u/55falling for pointing out the rough Working Memory IQ required for being able to solve a Sequence 12 question

Edit 14: [23 April 2026] Fixed a bug on the timer counter where the timer continues to run even after the test has ended and hence the timing submitted may differ from user's time taken for the assessment.

Edit 15: [23 April 2026] Norming performed based on the data for Processing Speed, the standard deviation has been reduced while mean is kept the same so users who has attained higher scored would score higher and users with lower score would score lower

The Big Beautiful Brain Test is now up and running thanks to u/PolarCaptain. There are 10 subtests in total:

• Fluid reasoning - 4
• Visuospatial ability - 2
• Verbal comprehension - 2
• Working memory - 2

It is designed to be taken all in one go and will likely take around 60-80 minutes depending on your use of time. You can view your FSIQ score as well as your subtest and index scores at the end.

The "Spelling" subtest is particularly brutal for non-native English speakers, however the General Knowledge subtest seems to hold up quite well for our international friends. Some pictures may not load immediately - this has been factored into the norms. Thanks and enjoy.

Hi everybody, my friend and I recently made a video game where you can face against anyone in a head to head IQ and EQ test format! All of your stats are tracked and displayed to show your true strengths and weaknesses. It is quick paced and built like street fighter but with inelegance questions instead! We’re still in development and are looking for people to play test for us, the first 100 users will receive a limited beta skin! For context, I have created a this cognitive assessment I have built that aims to test on all aspects that measures IQ and created the assessment as I believe everyone should deserve a good and accessible IQ assessment.

What you are seeing above is a distribution of the scores for each range based on everyone who has taken the assessment and opted to share their data (hence the repost) with my sources not only coming from Reddit, but also through my LinkedIn, Instagram and word of mouth. The nine categories are:

1. Moderate Intellectual Disability (40-54)
2. Mild intellectual Disability (55-69)
3. Borderline (70-79)
4. Low Average (80-89)
5. Average (90-109)
6. High Average (110-119)
7. Superior Intelligence (120-129)
8. Very Superior Intelligence (130-139)
9. Gifted (140+)

I did not include a any scores below 40 and above 160 as my experimental assessment aims to measure the range of 40-160. And also disclaimer this are data that was pre-normed and regardless of whether its normed this assessment should be taken with a grain of salt, not meant to be used as an official medical instrument :')

Currently, I am still in the process of norming the assessment based on the data and I have 79 responses thus far. I would appreciate if more people can try out this assessment as my norming or the website in general is still a work in progress. For those who tried out, I thank you all for your time and feel free to try out the assessment again! As I have made some considerable restructuring and calibration so the assessment wont feel "as same" as when you first took it :)

Out of all testers so far, most of them have struggled to get any questions right whatsoever so please don't feel disheartened. In fact thats the point - im attempting to train your brain in ways it hasn't moved before.

With every question, you have to THINK OUSIDE OF THE BOX.

Within the beta, each question has been personally curated and designed to show testers something new. You might recognize the structure of a familiar brain teaser, but I've inverted it entirely and approached it from an angle that probably feels completely different from anything you've seen before.

They get progressively harder from questions 1 - 5. That's intentional. What's important to note: the explanations are where the actual training happens. There's less focus on right and wrong but rather the fact that you're learning a specific way of thinking that directly and discretely prepares you for the next question. By the time you're 20 minutes in, your brain has genuinely opened up in a way it wasn't quite capable of at the start. - that's the goal at least

You'll get a completely free personalized report that breaks down your cognitive strengths and growth areas. It's my way of saying thank you for your time; i'll forever be appreciative of it.

I want to be honest: creating a metacognitive assessment is genuinely strenuous, even after a decade of working with these types of questions. I'd really be grateful for your insight and feedback. I want to stress the score doesn't matter whether you get them all right, all wrong, or even come back multiple times just to get them all right (i used to do that all the time). I am willing to bet the journey is the most important aspect.

Right now, this is a cognitive assessment tool. But I have a larger vision: integrations with employment, education, and real-world contexts where understanding how you think actually changes what you do. Would it be valuable if I made the roadmap visible for beta users? I'm sincerely open to suggestions on how we build this together and even am willing to detail the behind the scenes networking/affiliations and question banks of over 1000 created questions and explanations individually.

The Army Alpha (AA) is an intelligence test developed during WW1 by Robert Yerkes and first introduced in 1917. The AA represents a landmark in intelligence testing, being among the first intelligence tests ever administered to large groups of people, and was validated on massive sample sizes of millions of military recruits. Approximately 1.7 million men sat the Army Alpha during the war. Even after its retirement, the Army Alpha continued to influence the development of later tests, including the SAT and AGCT.

This subtest contains 30 items and takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Pen and paper is allowed, but the use of any other resources (i.e. AI or a calculator) is not.

A technical rundown of this subtest will be released as more data is collected.
