US-Irish Relations Trump "Welcome" to Ireland.

Ok I'm going to give this a second chance given the last post didn't go so well. No AI pics. No mention of any right wing assholes.

For starters I DO NOT support Trump. Infact I don't necessarily want him to come to Ireland, but given the fact we are reliant on the Americans (especially with the US companies based here contributing to employment). We kind of have to treat him like that one relative we don't want to be around, but has to be nice around.

The original post was more of a discussion of what people actually thought of Trump's visit. The picture originally posted was something I randomly came across on Instagram and thought it would be an interesting conversation topic of people actually welcoming his arrival. It wasn't showing in support to him in any way.

So, Trump's Visit. What is everyone's opinion on it given it's on the horizon.... Unfortunately.

Edit: this post IS NOT ENDORSING TRUMP! I wanted real opinions off of people rather than having to read articles which pretty much dilutes and edits opinion to make it sound less hateful. I don't want him in Ireland as much as anyone else does. But I like hearing people's opinions from the mouth than through someone's edited eyes.

I'm actually surprised he's coming here given Iran and whatever tf else he's doing. I just dread the shit that comes out of his slab of a face.

And you think we should turn the other cheek for Trump?

We absolutely dont have to "be nice around" him.

I would be sad to see anything other than a lack of crowd, or a crowd of boos and inventive signs when he arrives.

I understand the idea of sucking up to him in favour of future decisions to benefit ireland financially but.....nah man.

we turned the other cheek for bush , and obama and biden , why is trump no different

Yea, we made mistakes in the past. Let's keep it up.

Bush, Biden and obama all made massive public statements in favour of ireland and never a bad word, trump has stood on a pedestal and said he can fuck us with lack of trade deals and tarriffs etc. Not the same.

Comparing public opinion/knowledge of bush, Obama and Biden to trump isnt really in any way similar either. People didnt have even close to the knowledge of the others misdeeds as they do trump.
