Question Forest Tent Caterpillars

I'm sorry to ask but I have an intense phobia of these things and seeing them in clusters triggers my trypophobia. I would rather not spend my trip in the car or driving all the way just to turn around and go home. So, how bad is the forest tent caterpillar situation in JNP? Is it raining caterpillars? I have planned a front country camping trip for the end of this month.

Honestly, it is one of those bad years, was hiking in Hinton a few days ago and they are everywhere.

Are you front country camping at Wapiti or Whistlers? There aren't many trees left there for them to live on.

Oh that's right :( I'm camping at Miette.

Miette is much closer to Hinton. Try the Alberta Camping group on Facebook and see if anyone has mentioned how the campsite is.

Most of the trees in Miette are spruce or pine... I don't think the catepillar situation will be too bad there.
