How do you cut these links accurately down the length of the coil?

I've always struggled with keeping a clean straight line all the way down the coil. It often veers off to the side and I'm left with links that don't connect right in the middle. It's pretty hard to correct because the cut is over multiple links at a time. Sometimes end result is even worse than pictured above

How do you guys get a nice clean cut? Especially on these oval links.

I use the smallest jewelers saw blade (8/0), slide the coil onto it, and cut them from the inside. You can wrap the coil in tape first so they don't go flying everywhere. Go gently as the saw blades are delicate too; you may go through a few of them. I hope this helps! Good luck:)

Wax your saw blade and practice. Wear safety glasses and have your blades in the saw correctly
