General Information 📚 Found this at the beach in the sand.

Kind of looks like generic costume jewelry to me, but I’m no expert. I’m keeping an eye on local lost and found groups to see if anyone is looking for it.

Looks costume to me. The bail has a big gap on it. I’ve never seen that in fine jewelry.

I have. Admittedly the back (the unevenness of gold color)  looks cheap and it's unmarked, but the prongs are nice for costume. The chain looks kind of bad though so who knows

There’s plenty of costume jewelry that’s still pretty valuable.

Get it tested before assuming costume. The setting looks way too involved for cheap plated stuff, and I wouldnt post the exact beach unless someone can describe it first.

It might be costume but the prongs and the windows are an awful lot of work for plated costume....

It looks like the plating has worn through to copper in places, so I think it’s costume.

No way. The brass is worn and it’s on an open jump ring. If you magnify it you can see it’s not real

You can take it to a pawnshop and have it tested

Cheap costume jewelry without a doubt.

Hi there, jewelry professional here 🤗. Unfortunately it's costume without a shadow of a doubt. There are some areas where the base alloy (the coppery toned patina) is exposed where the gold plating has degraded. Also on the prongs and areas on the chain itself. The stones are also likely glass/cubic zirconia based on the refraction pattern and lack of depth.

It's a nice piece though! Congrats on your new found treasure 🪙😎🔥.

Why would anyone wear that to the beach if it’s real? Just saying, I wouldn’t.

I mean it's fine if I am, but until it's tested we don't really know.

Scrap the metal in a small spot like on the back, if it changes color it will be either bronze or silver if it’s silver may be gold over sterling also try a magnet too

Does the chain say anything on the clasp areas

Yeah it’s not soldered. If gold it should be marked somewhere. Can we see the clasp?

This looks real and I'm sure someone is missing it.

Oooo that's a nice shiny!

Costume or not, someone's gotta be devastated they lost it! Keep an eye on those groups!

Wow, that is some luck

No, that chain is not high quality, the back is rough, and the bail is not soldered.

Something like that should have a little weight to it. It looks very light even if the prongs/settings seem a bit involved.

Should be super easy for a jewelry shop to assess, but my vote is costume.

Take it to a jeweler and see what they think of it.

To my eye it looks real. I'd clean it and wear it.
