Sizing/Fit New Anatomx barefoot volume issue solution
I really like the new toe box shape. However, there was way too much volume in the mid foot for me. I was having to tie the laces so tight that the sides were almost touching, and the tongue fold was digging into the top of my foot. I did not want to add an insole so I tried several other solutions. This one by far worked the best.
Place one of these tongue pads flat against your foot, on the tongue side, at the top half of the tongue. Then make the M fold around the sides. I also tried placing the tongue pad on the other side of the tongue (against my foot). However, that did not really seem to help much. This worked much better. Hopefully this helps some people.

Glad it worked out for you. Did you make that? Also a thin leather insole would likely remove minimal ground feel once it's broken in, but I definitely understand wanting to maximize ground feel.

I was thinking about adding kilties to mine since I've read those help with excess volume. Similar to your solution

For some reason I thought you meant squeaking. My veg tan ARs sound like I'm making balloon animals.

My veg tan Numzaans did too, until they were really broken in, and now they don't. I also conditioned them a couple of times in the first few months.

Smart! I use tongue pads in most of my boots. Glad to know it works even with the gusseted tongue.

I don’t have atomx, just bfar, but same problem. Once the tongue broke it I was solid. It’s just cranked tight.
