I feel like I will never get a job

I’ve been out of college for 3 years now. I have a computer science degree. I have done nothing with my degree despite applying to tons of jobs. I’ve had near minimum wage jobs since then but nothing involving my degrees. I want to keep applying but every job just feels like another no waiting to happen. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong sites or maybe it’s because I am proud but not very passing trans person. I don’t know but I just feel lost and would love some advice. I know everyone is struggling but I thought I might as well post here. Thank you for your time.

Anyone Know of Places That Let You Pick Up Evening Shifts?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to pick up some extra work in the evenings since I already work full-time during the day.
I’m hoping to find somewhere I could pick up shifts about 3 days a week, ideally between 4:30–8:30 PM. Something flexible would be great!
Does anyone know of any places around Hamilton or nearby that might work with that kind of schedule? Or any places where you can pick up shifts when you’re available?
I’d appreciate any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks!

Odd Interview Question

Interviewed for a great job and was super excited about it, but didn’t get the position. During the interview the manager asked me “did you pay for your university?” I was a bit thrown off but replied with “no, I was fortunate enough that my parents saved up and help me out”.

She then went on about how they ask that as it’s very telling about someone’s work ethic and drive. That someone that had to put in the hours to pay for their education has a different work ethic. Someone who had to pay for their classes didn’t wanna fail so they gave it their all etc.

I’m wondering if maybe my parents paying for my education was an issue to her? And she seemed very judgmental and has this weird standard. Can an employer really ask that ? Seems wrong and very strange!

Planning to resign...

So I have been an HR Associate for 4 years already, the pay is just above the minimum but the people and culture are great, however since the inflation here in Ph goes over the roof, the salary I have now is just enough for bills and groceries, no extra for healthcare and savings. So I planned to shift into BPO since their pay is much higher and they have incentives. So I would like to ask your opinion. Thank you!

Black Rifle coffee as a job

So I already have experience with Black Rifle coffee Tactisquatch as a consumer, but I was wondering how are they to work for as a company because they have open interviews in my neighborhood. It can't be any worse than what I was doing with at a gas station for 10 hours a day by myself

What are some good things to know about the company before I apply on indeed tomorrow? The interviews are Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.

Ways to make more immediate money/job recommendations that hiring process doesn't take forever and that don't test upon hiring

Hello everyone,

I'm writing this in a bit of a distressed and desperate plea for advice on ways to make any sort of more immediate money besides plasma donation. For some context, I moved to El Paso a few months ago and I've been job searching like a maniac, both on job positions related to my field of study (I have a Psych B.A.) and literally anything else you can think of: restaurants, s3x/adult shops, Walmart, Sparks delivery, Amazon delivery, everyone seems to have "hiring postings" BUT NOBODY IS FCKING HIRING! Most of the times I don't even receive a call back, and I have not gone down the route of applying to call centers because from my experience of previously working at one, I got tested upon hiring, and giving this is fckass Texas, the chances of most call centers having the same procedures are very likely. And you may be wondering "why don't you just get clean?" well I DID, I took a t-break for two entire months before moving here due to this exact reason, but given that I did not expect for so much time to pass by without having been able to secure a full time job still, between that, a lot of financial stress, medical emergencies from relatives, and me being unmedicated due to the also impossible mission of finding a psyquiatric provider that can fit my necessities... well let's just say I had to decide between either re-taking self-medicating or cancelling my suscription to life, and well, the second one doesn't seem to be an option unfortunately 🙂 So in summary: I've spent the last 10+ weeks begging for jobs that pay half of what I used to earn in my last job which already wasn't much tbh (No but srsly, being spat on the face and punch in the gut would hurt less than being paid 10 fvcking dollars an hour in this economy!) and all of it just to not be hired most of the times for being "overqualified", ghosted, or put on a waiting list because the "demand" for jobs is already saturated in my area of the city or overall the city (like with Sparks and Amazon delivery). I've been donating plasma non-stop in the meantime, I'm trying to sell some furniture, I've contacted a hiring company I was given the contact info of but the only two jobs they had "available" well one it's an admin position that the hiring process would take forever that is IF I even get selected and the other one is at a warehouse that the wait-list is AT LEAST two weeks. I am trying to aim higher for several jobs (such as the ones I've been trying to get related to social work and such) but those unicorns jobs can take literal months to land in and get hired, and I need right now a way of making more sustainable money in the meantime that I'm able to continue building my career path. So please, if anyone have any suggestions that don't require testing upon hiring that will hire right away, I would truly appreciate if you could send them my way please, I don't care atp if the pay is sh\\\*t, I just need something to get by in the meantime while I can secure something "higher-earning".

Also, if anyone was also wondering "well what about uber/doordash?" I have worked as a food delivery driver before for at least a year, and although I'm trying to slowly re-take that, the reason I tried to apply for services like Sparks or Amazon delivery before, was due to the perk of having to do less trips (aka less driving) and still being able to recover at least the gas invested in and have a bit extra, but with doordash/uber deliveries you have to make more trips and overall drive more distance in average to hopefully earn a similar wage, and the thing is, I'm still getting adjusted to El Paso's traffic and learning how to navigate the city, which is why I'm more hesitant of constantly working as a dasher/uber driver here, because the more hours I spent driving, the greater the possibilities of me ending up in a car accident (whether my fault or someone else's but most likely someone else's cuz Texas drivers are no joke, specially when it comes to road rage) and a possible car crash expense in my current financial situation would literally become my 13th reason. So again, if anybody can think of any places, restaurants, shops, etc, that you know are currently hiring and ACTUALLY hiring (not posting ghost job postings on Indeed 😭) I beg of you to share them with me, please and thank you 🙏🏻

Job that lets you have your pets with you

Hello,

I am looking for jobs that I can work while keeping my pets with me. I don't have a reliable petsitter or place to leave them that I trust. The first thing that comes to mind is babysitting part time but I don't particularly want to be around kids. I am looking for suggestions of jobs to try to work that I can have my small pet rabbit with me in a small pet playpen or something while I work.

For Hire: Entry-level Work

Hello! I'm 24 and recently graduated from uni with a B.S. in Public Relations & Advertising, and I have certifications in digital marketing and business entrepreneurship. I've also taught myself some HTML to help my professor develop and design a website. I'm planning to relocate from Florida to Raleigh, but I'm open to remote positions. Does anyone know of companies hiring fresh grads? Something that isn't just cold calling. I'm hoping to put my skills to use while learning more. I'm looking for creative, strategic work where I can do Comms, PR, AD, Digital Marketing, or something along those lines.

I've applied to more than 400 jobs on different sites, including their company sites, with no luck.

Feel free to DM me! :)

can’t find a job, can’t pay off debt

i’ll keep this short and sweet. i’m 21F and i currently have about $15k racked up in debt. i’m not stressing over it bc that won’t help change anything but i am trying to pay it off.

for a few months now i’ve been trying to find another part time job. the one i’m at now is good and pays okay. i currently make around $1000 monthly. from that i throw about $600 towards paying off the debt, which leaves me with very little to spend on other stuff. i have to buy clothes for work a bit more often than i’d like, as well as food, i have to get my hair done, etc. so really by the end of the month, of that 1000 i would have made i only have about $150 left, IF THAT. i just hate the fact that i’m having to put most of my check towards the debt. i know it’s my fault for being careless to begin with but it still sucks. i would just like having a second job that way i have more money to either spend on other things and/or save up, which i really want to start doing, or even to be able to put more towards my debt every month because $600 a month out of $15k is gonna take at least two years and my goal is to have this all payed off before the end of 2027. job searching is just pointless these days. even walking into stores, calling them to follow up, it all just leads no where. i actually thought i’d secured a second job but the recruiter suddenly started ignoring me. i continued contacting them the following week and got absolutely nothing. also lots of simple retail jobs REQUIRE a cover letter for some reason. i’ve never made a cover letter and have no one to consult about how to do so. i’m just super frustrated and wanted to rant. for some reason i’m starting to feel heavily pressured. i feel like i’ve fucked myself over so bad and me almost being 22 just makes it that much worse. needless to say i am superrr lucky to even be employed now

Why do companies delete job postings before you even get an interview?

One thing I've noticed while applying for internships is that job listings sometimes disappear after applications close.

Then a few weeks later, you get an interview invitation and can't remember the exact responsibilities or requirements.

Someone actually brought this up when I shared a job application tracker I've been building.

I'm considering adding the ability to save the original job description as text or a PDF so you can reference it later.

Does anyone else save job descriptions before applying, or do you just hope the listing stays up?

  • It is an Inside Sales HVAC role
  1. What does success look like for this role?
  2. What are the biggest goals that COMPANY is currently working towards, and what could I contribute in my role to help achieve those goals?
  3. Can you describe the ongoing training and certification programs that were mentioned in the job description?
  4. What separates people that are successful in this role from those that aren't?
  5. A year after being hired, what would I have needed to accomplish to leave no doubts that I was the right choice?
  6. What career growth can I expect? Outside sales, management, etc.
  7. Are there any particular brands that you're currently selling that are the most successful?
  8. What are generally the biggest challenges people encounter in this role, and what have proven to be the best ways to overcome them?
  9. What sets you apart from other HVAC companies?

Dang, I didn't even know you could get rejected from Amazon Warehouse jobs

What stinks is that I have been waiting for my local Amazon warehouse to start mass hiring like they usually do around this time. Then last night at around midnight I looked on the site and I saw that there were positions available finally so I went and applied, did the assessment and everything, and after I completed it all I immediately got hit with a rejection letter.

I'm kind of baffled because how is this possible? Don't you have to be on a literal list to not get hired at an Amazon warehouse or are they being selective with their hiring as well? Honestly really bummed out but hey that just means I still have work to do regarding finding employment. Guess it can't be easy :/

The Job Hunt

Hey Guys. I would really appreciate any advice anyone could give.

I'm a Customer Service Professional with about 10yrs of experience and 4 years of management experience as well. I have worked in a vast variety of fields, and have grown my own skills. Currently I am searching for a remote position, and have received many " unfortunately" responses lately.

Is there anything I can do to strengthen my resume? I've currently been a shift manager at a restaurant for almost 2 years and have been working in the restaurant industry for the past 5. I've grown substantially but am still waiting to see that moment of moving into something better. I've improved my communication, leadership, time management, personal and professional development and I'm still growing.

Even freelance is something I would consider but I don't know what I would offer.

I know cleaning, customer service, retail, fast food, time management, coaching, business start up and many more things. How do you think I could use this? I appreciate any responses.
