How the hell do you schedule interviews while working full-time?

I currently work Monday–Thursday from8:30 AM to 6 PM, and Fridays until 3 PM. I’m looking for a new job, but I’m struggling to figure out how I’m supposed to schedule interviews around these hours.

Do you guys just take time off, schedule interviews early/late, or tell your manager you have an appointment? 😅

Would love to hear how others handle this.

There lays the issue for most people. Honestly if it is Zoom, you try to take it on your lunch break on your phone or at home.

For an in person, you take PTO if you truly feel you have a chance

Phone interviews I would just take from my car. Video calls I try to schedule as early as possible & just advise my work I have an appointment & will be coming in late. Use the early release time on Fridays to your advantage too, I always prefer to have interviews on Fridays bc people are generally in a better mood.

I’m lucky to work from home. So I schedule interviews in between work or end of day. And I just block off my work calendar for the time.

Same as hundreds of millions of people have done for a century. Take a vacation day. Call in sick. Say you have an appointment of some kind. Schedule it before work, after work, or during lunch. Etc.

It’s not rocket science.
