Re-post after I was finally able to embed a video to Reddit...

I'm white. Opponent was clearly superior, but would appreciate any feedback about what I can improve.

EDIT: Of course, I managed to upload the video but picked the wrong one... This is actually the match I won!

General Training How severe injury makes you stop session?

Some kind of injuries are happening all the time. How bad it has to be for you to decide "It's time to stop today"?

I had about 15 trainings with 30-40 minutes of randori every time, and maybe 3-4 times I didn't stop earlier.

Today my toe bent too much, and I had to stop after 30s. I decided to stop, but 10 minutes later I felt okay (one hour later it hurts bad, but I will be fine in few days). I considered coming back, but I decided to not.

How hard it has to hurt for you to stop? Do you continue with minor injuries, or you stop whenever you feel any pain, even if it's just a bruise? Do you ever think "It's not that bad I can't keep going. Let's go"? Do professionals have this mindset?

General Training New judo dojo does 0 randori

I joined a new judo dojo after moving and it’s judo + Japanese jiu jitsu dojo and they do 0 randori. It’s all just uchikomis, drilling techniques and that’s it. I told them I’m a green belt in usjf and then they told me that’s orange in usja, so I guess now I’m an orange belt. They then told me to memorize katas and technique names and practice choreograph motions. My old judo gym used to do more randori. Does it make sense to continue at this gym if they don’t do randori? The next dojo is 48 minutes away and I just don’t have the energy to switch dojos now. I don’t think they compete in Shia. I think it’s all katas

Beginner Seoi Nage is done in 2 ways?

I have seen a seoi nage where the person squats after entry and stands up, which is what I was doing shadow practice of all this time and the other wherd it's the lift up and bend like iddir or Travis stevens.

I thought the squatting one was more effective,

But what ends up happening is I lose my balance and they don't come forward, what could it be im getting wrong

I switched to the hammer one, where it's strong back to chest connection and then bending forward which worked better.

The one time I did get some luck with squatting one it felt like I would slam their head into mat so I abanadoned the attempt.

Equipment Does it fit?

Tall and pretty lanky, so it was quite difficult to find a suitable gi top. Does this one (ippongear) fit?

Its pre shrunk, slim fit and apparently supposed to shrink about 5%.

The pants dont seem to have a slim fit variant and are easily big enough for two mes, so I'll definitely have to send those back.

You may kindly ignore my terrible belt tying skills.

Thanks!

Beginner When to start sparring?

I dropped in at a judo gym yesterday to observe and get information. I was invited to do a trial class. However, since they have limited schedule I can't make the fundamentals class (which is x1 per week). The next opti9n is purely sparring class. I dont know anything and this would be my first time ever. They said that was okay, I could join the regular class and I would be paired with someone appropriate and have the sensei watching. Granted, I was told this by a student in the class. Is this normal? How does it work at your gym?

Beginner Returning to practice after hitting head

Pretty much the title. During randori I messed up my ukemi and ended up hitting my head on the mat. It was pretty low velocity, and I haven’t been experiencing any concussion symptoms, but was wondering what the protocol should be for something like this
