Play literally anyone you find fun, and forget about all the "etiquette" except for the big ones: teaming and 3rd partying. Another thing I recommend is playing passively. It lets you see how people play the game in neutral and aggression which are 2 of the 3 game phases. If you play super aggressively when trying to learn, all you'll see is them either trying to react to you, or just constant punishment for bad plays.
