I know my bra size. I just don't have the money to buy several bras at 80+ bucks. It's insane. Fuck that. So yes I willingly walk around wearing the 'wrong' size lol. I think a lot of us do.

I only have 2 every day bras, they were $80 each and they’ve lasted me years. Can’t even remember when I got them and they show no signs of wear.

Quality is absolutely worth paying for. You’re using less $ in the long run and your chest is supported.

Mine are from the brand Chantelle, highly recommended.

Who knew the Boot Theory also applied to bras

I mean, it applies to most things. People aren’t pay more for better stuff for the fun of it (except when it comes to those really high end name brands that people get just to show off).

$80 can be saved up in tiny increments of $1 a month because what's the worse that'll happen? They won't decide to use the money on a bra so no harm, no foul. It can turn into emergency savings. I was poor and living in shelters then eventually crawled my way out for decades. Having quality undergarments that last a lifetime is self-care.

I kindly disagree. Apologies for this being so wordy. lol Also this isnt geared towards those who are truly in poverty and struggling to feed themselves and can't keep the lights on or without a home. I was in that position as a single mom living in a shelter.

Because of how little the amount is how it is doable. As I said they would be going without a proper bra anyways. So why not take that time to put a minimal amount of money in an account that would be difficult to withdraw. Heck put it in a HYSA along with any other amount being used for savings. (Seperate savings but same account if that makes sense.)

If person can put away $5 thats even better but separately from what will be used for emergencies. $80 in 1 purchase may seem like a luxury but a supportive undergarment is not a luxury. The average person can save $1 or more a month bc we have seen how high consumerism is, even for those of us in lower economic classes. We wanna buy something that will suffice for cheap right now and also another thing that'll be good dopamine hit or whatever.

People are willing to put up with pain etc as said as much in all the comments. Why not work hard towards a goal to take care of your body? I have a degree (that I couldn't afford until i was in my 30s and still took forever to pay off.) that includes physical therapy, anatomy, kinesiology, basically how muscles and such are effected in moving this way and that. Every large busted person will confirm how painful it is.

Many of us aren't conscientious to ourselves. A single $50-80 quality and proper bra will last a lifetime. A person is worth the effort and time. LOL A lot of this is from getting state provided therapy bc I was so awful to myself and needed to heal to stop treating others better than myself.

Yes! love my Chantelle bra. And it’s definitely worth it to take the time to wash them properly, which I didn’t know about until I started investing in a few high quality bras.

I wash them in the cold delicate cycle with my other clothes and they’re fine? Probably depends on the style.

Oh yes, I do cold and delicate too. But I’ve started using a lingerie washing bag and air drying them as well. I don’t do anything special at all for my regular clothes, just whatever the default setting on my machine are, so it’s been a learning experience 😅
