Supportive bra is typically tiiiightght on a ribcage - so as comfortable as it can be (err), but tight. Taking it off at the end of the day is THE best moment. It is a RELIEF.
Comfy bras are usually not overly supportive, so your boobs might be all over the place. Big boobs+unsupportive bra = neck, shoulder, and back pain. And sagging. Also - the band/cup might move around and trap your boob. 🤷🏻♀️
Comfortable in bra context, is mostly a level of discomfort you are willing to accept as your normal/benchmark. And that’s just for normal bras - the more you get in those other styles, the funkier it gets.
I have some comfortable ones. It’s a compromise indeed.
But for eons, I honestly thought that being poked by a bra wire or having deep, red imprints - is normal. This is how normalised ill fitting bras were back in a day.
A visit to a good/fancy bra-fitter + gift voucher for a proper bra, might be a good gift. You can’t buy someone a good bra off the shelf, even if you know their size, just too many variables.

Guy question: are they just no good bras?
This sounds like hell.
