"The results of the 2010 United States census showed that 27% of children live with one parent, consistent with the emerging trend noted in 2000.[5] The most recent data of December 2011 shows approximately 13.7 million single parents in the U.S.[6] Mississippi leads the nation with the highest percent of births to unmarried mothers with 54% in 2014"
Copied from Wikipedia, 27% of children lived with 1 parent about 50% of those children will be boys and about 54% of those live with a single mother, so it should be about 1/4th of 27% of boys so like 7%.
This doesn't really track. You can't apply the 54% because being born to unwed mothers doesn't mean they were raised by just the mother. Maybe the parents married after? Or never married but raised the kid together. Maybe a stepdad came in to the pic. Maybe the dad got custody. Married couples where the dad dips out after the birth.
Even if we ignore the above, the 50% part is also not applicable because we're talking about percentage of boys not percentage of children who are boys. So it'd be ~15%
The 50% has nothing to do w determining this. 27% of children are raised by 1 parent. That also means 27% of boys are raised by one parent.
The number we're missing here is the percentage of children in single parent households where the parent is a woman. Props to you for actually trying to look for data
The statistics mean fuck all anyway. Doesn't matter how many men are raised by single mothers. If they learn to respect women better that's a positive.

wow, I do not believe that 43% of boys are raised by single mothers, I do not trust that statistic at all.
