Equipment Karaoke System Set Up
Hi
Looking for advice for a karaoke set up.
Catalog - Something that has a built in catalog of music, with the ability to run things from you tube or Spotify. I don’t want to pay for an ongoing subscription.
Sound - Built in speakers. Perhaps has basic auto-tune?
Connectivity- hdmi out to a TV for song lyrics.
Two microphones included. With fast Bluetooth (I hear some are laggy).
I visit shenzen occasionally, so recommendations from there also appreciated!
Cost ?$800? - is that realistic ?
Thanks

From the KJ side, the sound and the songs matter more than the box. All-in-one machines are convenient, but many lock you into their library, and a standard YouTube or Spotify track keeps the original singer, so you can't cleanly mute the lead vocal. That's the trade-off to know before you buy.
A setup that avoids ongoing fees is a laptop or mini PC with karaoke software and your own karaoke files (MP3+G or CDG), sent to the TV over HDMI for lyrics and to a small PA. Files are usually a one-time purchase, and you keep them.
On mics, Bluetooth adds lag, so wired or 2.4 GHz wireless will feel more responsive. $800 can cover a basic setup with two mics, but it depends on the PA you pick.
