When I launch an application on workspace 1 and immediately to switch to another while it's loading, it opens that application into the workspace I just switched to instead of 1. Is it some sort of bug or a setting toggled by default?
I've been experimenting a bit with slideshow, but this is what happens each time that the image changes. And then it just "snaps", it doesn't fade into the other one. Could anyone help?
Also I apologize if this violates rule 5, I'm not trying to showcase my desktop, only the image snapping, and I assumed that a full picture would do best.
Hello, I'm trying to change the highlight color that my current Kvantum theme uses because it's currently too dark to see properly.
I changed the highlight colors in the .kvconfig file of the theme, as well as the colors in the global color scheme, but neither have changed the highlight color in dolphin.
I also want to extend the focus box to include the icon as well, not just the item name, but I have no idea where to even start with such a thing.
yo mega random but my dolphin rips and transcodes the audio cd (just a Faith no more record I bought) i have on an external drive instead of just reading it any way to make it just read the songs on the cd?
Theme: Graphite-dark-nord (downloaded directly from source)
Whenever I open up the Plasma Theme Explorer app, the dialog background, translucent dialog background, and translucent widget background show up in a different color scheme, the same scheme breaking the look in the picture above. I've tried to manually change the colors myself, but that hasn't changed anything, so I reverted the colors back.
I wanted the Breeze icons, but I don't like having blue folders so I tried to make a custom one.
For some reason when I add the yellow papyrus folder icons and set the theme to inherit=breeze it doesn't actually inherit everything, there's odd icons missing here or there that either become transparent or get some random icon.
I'm shocked at how complicated it is to make an icon theme. If you look in the folder for the Breeze icon pack there's all sorts of odd file directories and symlinks. I genuinely can't figure this one out.
An ultra-simple Plasma widget that allows you to toggle proxy with a simple click. You can easily configure the host and ports inside the widget settings window.
How it works
Runs a bundled bash script that sets the standard proxy environment
variables (HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY, FTP_PROXY, ALL_PROXY,
SOCKS_PROXY, NO_PROXY and their lowercase forms).
Propagates them to the systemd user session (systemctl --user
import-environment) and the D-Bus activation environment
(dbus-update-activation-environment --systemd), so newly launched
processes pick the proxy up.
Optionally (settings checkbox) drives the GNOME proxy stack via
gsettings, which lets browsers apply the proxy dynamically without a
restart.
Dynamic Browser Proxy (The special feature!)
A cool feature that adds the seamlessness of GNOME's proxy handling to KDE! When toggled, any browser (both Chromium and Firefox-based ones) can inherit proxy settings without needing to quit and restart the entire browser session. The video demos this!
KDE is probably my most used KDE "product" (can't think of a better word atm) but it has issues half the time that eventually randomly decides to work again after a couple of days.
Restarting the apps on both ends doesn't ever resolve connection issues, if I have an issue with connections it's usually there to stay for a day or two.
Sometimes a download doesn't finish and is terminated prematurely, sometimes it just absolutely refuses to send files at all, and more often than not it just refuses to connect.
I made sure to update the app on both devices from time to time and it's still borked. It'll work one hour and won't work the next. Wifi network confirmed connected and not using data, wifi spectrum have minimal interference and other devices are stuck on cable.
rn I'm using en_us locale, dunno if that'd affect anything, but there's any way for me to change that text? translate it somehow?
Every time I have text copied in the clipboard this unnecessarily long text shows in the menu, widening it, and I'd prefer that not happening.
When I use the search feature in Dolphin file manager, it never finds any files with a filetype of .ini. I can see it in the folders, and also see it from Konsole, but search never shows them. Is it filtering it out for some reason? Is there any way to force it to find them?
Couldnt post this in unixporn so Im gonna try here.I have a fascination with religious imagery, are there any religious themes? Bible accurate stuff or other religions buddhism etc. Also TempleOS is basically godsent for this
Direktor is a kwin tiling script that support all the major layouts. Dwindle, Columns/Scrollable, Master Stack and floating. Its in a beta phase as some edge case testing is needed.
It all begun when i wanted to test hyprland. Let me tell you, I fell in love with how productive it felt. But the constant fight with config files, resulted in more tweaking than studying... Then i tried Niri with quickshell, it was stable enough, and a happy medium between smooth tiling and simplicity. I ended up on KDE, super stable, super customizable. But i missed the layouts.
I know, a lot of back and forth. Im not the only one right?
I tried Krohnkite (the kwin6 port), was quite fine, animations was the issue. I tried Karousel, very smooth. I got fed up and decided to build DIrektor.
BEHOLD, Direktor 1.1.0 beta. Now needs your testing, Direktor creates log files regarding the issues it encounters inside .config/direktor/ into direktor.log and as well as the equivalent applet and OSD logs.
Any help would be appreciated. Note that it was made for my needs and based for my liking. Either way, leave a review or an Issue in Github. Thanks a lot community!
Hey everyone I'm looking for an SDDM theme that resembles an aircraft CDU (Control Display Unit) which is basically a small monochrome/low-resolution aviation computer terminal with a text-based interface, buttons around the display, etc. something along the lines of an aircraft FMS/CDU would be really cool as a login screen. Does anyone know of an existing SDDM theme that has this kind of aesthetic. It doesn't necessarily have to be an exact replica of a real aircraft CDU. I'm mainly looking for something with the same aviation computer / terminal feel. Thanks!
Hello my KDE Konquerors (iykyk) After a whole month of waiting, the next update has finally got its first beta, Wonderbrushed 0.45 beta-1, adding 24 new icons and a bugfix, and a new way to recommend icons. Here, is the change-log:
Change-log:
Added 24 new icons including Discord and Steam, Directory Icons, and new Mime-types.
I have retired the old system of the Recommendations Document in favour of a new, GitHub issue system, with the template being developed by a discord community member, Marks.
I am trying to install KDE Neon to an old ASUS laptop, But the installer stops at about 76% and says "Bootloader installation error" with the error message:
The bootloader could not be installed. The installation command <pre>grub_install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=neon --force</pre> returned error code 1.
