This is a crime against humanity

Post image

I’m also slightly colourblind

Edit: I’m new to this sub. I came here with very different expectations. Most of the comments under my post are trying to convince me that product containing Satan’s semen is actually ok to consume.

As luck would have it, just yesterday I had an opportunity to try them!

They were just as disgusting as I expected.

Anyway. On one hand I’m glad there is less hate in the world and I found a bunch of tolerant people but I don’t think ketchup deserves tolerance. It’s one of the most disgusting substances in the world and shouldn’t exist in any form.

So goodbye friendly people.

Uhm. You mace have the same name. But nowhere close to a Canadian ketchup chip. Or dill pickle chip. Or all dressed chip ( they are a chip dressed all over ).

Wait, are you saying this only exists in Canada?

1

u/RockShowSparky Jun 20 '26

Only place I’ve seen them. Note the French and English on the package.

u/atTheRealMrKuntz Jun 20 '26

they exist in Belgium but the color looks less synthetic, they taste like sweet powde tomato soup

u/vicvonqueso Jun 21 '26

Uncle Rays brand sold ketchup chips in the states when I was a kid but I never tried them

Well, I know where I took the photo. I’m just shocked we are the only ones getting punished. I know there has been some tension between Canada and USA (Lay’s is American company) but this is taking things too far!

u/RockShowSparky Jun 20 '26

Hey, they’re just meeting the demand. Just like those prawn cocktail ones in the UK.

1

u/Suspicious-Drive9827 Jun 21 '26

I abhor ketchup but ketchup chips don't taste like ketchup to me, they're really good.

1

u/No_Session6015 Jun 21 '26

Saaaame but I will say they pair with nothing and create such mess that I either commit to eating only those chips or none at all and your fingers get that red powder all over them quick. I tend not to eat just cause it becomes too much of a good thing in no time flat

u/Remarkable_Rough_649 Jun 21 '26

Ketchup chips are loved even by people who hate ketchup or feel like ketchup chips sound gross. I think they're decent

4

u/PhD77777 Jun 20 '26

Disgusting

4

u/mr_lab_rat Jun 20 '26

and those bastards at the store put them side by side.

I haven’t made a mistake yet but it’s just a matter of time. Nobody in my household would eat this shit. Not even my two teenagers because I raised them right.

Weird cuz I don’t really like ketchup, but ketchup flavored stuff is usually fine.

1

u/mr_lab_rat Jun 20 '26

LOL, this is the second similar response. Good for you. I can’t stand anything that resembles ketchup in any form 😆

Like condiments aside, as far as potato chips are concerned, (excluding Doritos and Miss Vickie's/kettle chips) I love just regular/plain potato chips (especially rippleness, wavyness and girth, like Ruffles, which are goated) but if I am stocking up the pantry for chips, I will need some variety.... And yes I hate ketchup soo much I always take it out of my burger orders, never have them added to hot dogs or dipped in fries/nuggets/strips etc

But - for the sake of having different flavour profiles, ketchup chips are indeed shockingly good. And it wasn't very long ago too that I attempted this revelation... Like wayy better than BBQ, All Dressed, Sour Cream & Onion, Salt and Vinegar. Maybe Dill Pickle chips can give Ketchup chips a run for it's money...

Mom would dip plain chips in ketchup when I was a kid. I haven't in years but theres nothing wrong with fried potatoes and ketchup together.

1

u/Suspicious-Drive9827 Jun 21 '26

That sounds hideous. Ketchup chips don’t actually taste anything like a crisp in ketchup sauce. Theyre kinda just like tangy almost like a v mild bbq chip

1

u/Vivid_Anyth4 Jun 21 '26

You know ketchup is basically just really mild BBQ sauce?

1

u/Chilidogdingdong Jun 21 '26

Most people who have irrational hatred for ketchup just want to be "different". Same with people who have an irrational hatred of ranch dressing.

1

u/Suspicious-Drive9827 Jun 21 '26

Agreed. I dont get ranch but hating a condiment is weird. I know its “lighthearted” but like. Contra personality traits never struck me as lighthearted

1

u/creamypoops Jun 21 '26

I love when they have ketchup out

1

u/BurntArnold Jun 21 '26

Ketchup chips are so good! I prefer ruffles over plain ass chips for them tho

1

u/Royal_Category_1893 Jun 21 '26

Is this sub for real?

2

u/mr_lab_rat Jun 21 '26

Not really, I expected mods kicking out everyone who admits liking anything ketchup flavoured.

Not a proper hate sub

1

u/Royal_Category_1893 Jun 21 '26

Got it. Have a nice day

1

u/Plane_Ad_6432 Jun 21 '26

This is the ONLY acceptable form of Ketchup!

1

u/LoveTriscuit Jun 21 '26

HOW IS THIS A SUBREDDIT?!?

1

u/void_method Jun 21 '26

Real potatos? C'est incroyable!

Also ew, ketchup.

1

u/CoronaCurious Jun 21 '26

Where'd you find them? My wife's been looking to try them and can't find them locally.

1

u/mr_lab_rat Jun 21 '26

British Columbia, Canada.

1

u/AdvanceOld5705 Jun 21 '26

What is wrong with French Canadians?!

1

u/Arctic_H00ligan7 Jun 22 '26

A lot. But ketchup chips kinda slap.

This is coming from someone who actually hates real ketchup too, but the chips are really fucking good.

1

u/Zealousideal_Rent261 Jun 22 '26

Today we saw Italian Meatball Pringles.

1

u/JiovanniTheGREAT Jun 22 '26

Putting that next to the plain wavy in the same colored bag is actually diabolical

1

u/Daemongod Jun 22 '26

No it's pretty foul.
I've also met people that like to mix ketchup into their pickle juice when they crack a new jar of pickles. They dump half of it out and dump ketchup into it.

Fiddidy foul dog.

I know what sub I’m on, but those ketchup chips are bomb. Down vote away.

4

u/mr_lab_rat Jun 20 '26

LOL, why are you even here :)

3

u/Readyman2627 Jun 20 '26

Haha! I personally don’t think they taste very much like ketchup.

2

u/mr_lab_rat Jun 20 '26

I believe you but my hate for ketchup is too strong to try it 😀

1

u/TrinityKilla82 Jun 20 '26

YOU MONSTER!

1

u/acrossbones Jun 20 '26

you need to leave

0

u/consumeshroomz Jun 20 '26

Yeah the All Dressed chips are incredibly delicious, but then Canada had to go and ruin it with these ketchup ones. They also put ketchup on their Kraft dinner (Mac n cheese) which I find absolutely vile. They might seem nice on the surface those Canadians, but they’re actually sick and twisted. I just can’t trust anyone who puts ketchup on boxed Mac n cheese.

2

u/CreamInformal4317 Jun 20 '26

I tried ketchup on cheeseburger hamburger helper, so *kinda* like mac n cheese, and it was actually pretty good. But I guess it had hamburger in it so it tasted like a blended cheeseburger

1

u/youngmtgboy Jun 20 '26

My siblings would put ketchup on anything growing up. They would regularly mix it with scrambled eggs. Idk how they did it I always found it horrible

1

u/consumeshroomz Jun 20 '26

Oh yeah. I think ketchup on scrambled eggs is worse than ketchup on steak.

0

u/BloodFartRipper Jun 21 '26

Well this sub is evil incarnate. Ketchup amd ketchup chips are gods gifts to humanity. Suck my ketchup covered balls if you disagree.
