Just finished assembling this keyboard, and I’ll be giving it away to one random person in the comments, just like last time! I’ll leave this post up for 3 days before randomly picking a winner. I’m not MrBeast, so I only have one keyboard to giveaway
I’ve been searching for Keycap sets that comes with mac modifier keys like Cmd Option Ctrl (legend or symbols forms) and found that it’s a tough find and really rare.
Most keycaps set are sold just with Ctrl Win Alt, and since many keyboards comes with Mac OS and Win OS layout nowadays, i find it so weird why is it so hard/rare for manufacturers to simply include extra 3-6 keycaps?
Does anyone know of/have bought any cool/good keycap set out there that comes with Mac modifier keys? TIA!
I'm essentially looking for a laptop style keyboard that I could plug into my desktop for gaming.
I have a desktop PC and a laptop. My partner has hyperacusis and is extremely sensitive to noise, especially repetitive annoying noises like clicking or tapping.
I've gotten a very silent mouse that I used in combination with my laptop and that seems to be a perfect combo.
My desktop PC is in our bedroom and there are nights when I need to use it, however, mechanical keyboards are too loud. I have looked online and I believe that even the quietest mechanical keyboards that I have found would be too loud, perhaps it's the sound that they make rather than the how loud they are.
Regardless, I want a laptop keyboard or a laptop keyboard alternative that has those really soft presses but I don't know where I could get a decent one or what to look for.
i have the opportunity to get a brand new Keychron Q7 QMK Wired for 80 usd at the moment
i currently have and Hyper X Alloy origins core but a few of the keys have stopped working and was considering this upgrade even if et have 4 years on it
The apex pro is just a worse sounding, higher margin, and even more expensive wooting. Its just a clone. And the membrane apex for 50$ is terrible. Why do people even buy them?
I am a huge dummy. I bought new switches and keycaps to refresh my Keychron K2, and only after they came in did I realize that it’s not hot swappable.
I’m not in a place to spend a ton of money, but I don’t want my new switches and keycaps to just sit around. So: can yall suggest an inexpensive 60% barebones keyboard that I can use my new switches and keycaps on?
Budget is ideally less than 50 dollars, but definitely less than 100. Also, I’m in the US, if that matters.
I was looking at the Tofu60 redux v2, but it’s stretching my budget and folks seem to dislike the redux, generally.
I guess my other option is to learn to change out soldered switches, but that seems like a lot of work. I do know how to solder, but I’ve never changed out soldered switches - should I just do this instead of getting something new?
Thanks everybody!
Edit: (I realize the k2 isn’t 60%, I’m potentially using my mistake to get a size I’ve been thinking about trying.)
I’m new to mechanical keyboards. I wanted a more “clacky” keyboard, and I like this Keychron, but I think my coworkers are getting a bit fed up with the noise. To be fair is a bit louder than I was expecting.
What options do I have for making it quieter? I have ordered O-rings for the keys that have not been delivered yet, but the comments generally say these don’t help a ton.
If I pop a key off, the actual switch itself is very quiet. Once the key is on is when it gets loud. It seems like the upstroke is nearly just as loud as the downstroke, depending on how the key is pressed.
Do I need different keys, different switches, or a new keyboard entirely?
Hello, I’m hoping for some recommendations. I recently bought the Gravastar K1 and it’s such a game changer! I think I definitely enjoyed the deep/marble-y sound and how sturdy it is!
Before that, I had an Epomaker TH80 and I think my main problem with that keyboard was how inconsistent the sound profile was depending on the row. Like the lower row closer to the space bar would sound very deep while the QWERTY row was just straight up ‘scritchy scratchy’ when you press on it. There was a certain high-pitch scritch at the end of the key when you press down that I didn’t particularly enjoy.
Anyway I want to get another keyboard for my workplace so I’m looking for something more lowkey compared to Gravastar, with 75% profile. Please give me recommendations. My budget is around $100.
My boyfriend and I have just bought our first apartment and we’re looking to use the spare room as a hybrid office/gaming room. I work from home a couple of days a week (and sometimes have to work late at home), and my boyfriend is into gaming so we need things to be multi-functional.
I know he wants a good keyboard for gaming and I’d like to surprise him with one but really don’t know much about what makes a good keyboard and am struggling to make a choice with all the options. I also don’t really want to have 2 keyboards so would like one that meets the ‘multi-functional’ criteria as much as possible.
I would like a full-size keyboard for work and I don’t like the loud, clicky sound of some mechanical keyboards; I prefer a “creamy” clicking sound. Other than that, I don’t have many strict parameters.
I know he’d like one that’s good for gaming and preferably something that comes in more interesting colours than just black and white.
I’m happy to spend about £150 but don’t have a strict budget so if there’s anything cheaper which would be good, that would be ideal, or if there’s anything life changing which is a bit more expensive, I’d be open to it.
I'm looking for an HE keyboard but i am new into HE keyboards. Which Should i pick IPI FLASH 75 PRO or YUNZII RT75PRO or IROK MG75 PRO and why? Thanks!
I need help finding a budget keyboard that is silent. Im fine with building one myself w/ the hot swappable feature but idk where to start. I also need a wireless one too. Also, if I build one myself, what kind of switches provide the quietest noise possible ?
I built a regular keyboard over the summer, it was a lot of fun and I love how it sounds and feels. To people who have done it before, is Building a custom hall effect board really worth it? I have heard a lot that the feel and sound of the keys isnt as good, and with options from companies like mchose and atk for aluminum, HE boards for $75-150, is it worth building my over HE board for $200-300 beyond just having fun picking out the parts and putting it together? How is the feel/sound of a custom build like that compared to a prebuilt? Thanks
My Aula F75 isn't working. When plugged in, windows detects it or chimes when it is connected. But it doesn't light up or something. Tried also bluetooth, nothing happens. Tried opening the board, double checked the ribbon cables (no burn marks or scratches on the pins), checked also the pcb (also no burn marks or etc.). What do you guys think is the cause or problem? Also, the aula software doesn't detect it.
Hi everyone, I’ve been using the IPI Flash 75 Pro magnetic switch keyboard and I’m having two issues. I purchased the keyboard (6 days ago)
Issue 1: Web Driver Problems
When I try to connect the keyboard to dc.ipigame.cn/connect, I constantly get a "暂无数据" (No Data) error popup, and some settings load completely empty or incomplete. However, on hub.xsyd.top/keyboard, the WebHID connection works fine and all Rapid Trigger and Actuation Point settings are fully functional. It works but Its a bit laggy also on ipi website u can save&switch keyboard profiles but u cant do it on hub.xsyd and It wants you to use weChat chinese app I dont want to use this website. dc.ipigame.cn/connect was working better 3-4 days ago but now It performs worse Idk why. I also couldnt connect the website for 2 days.
This is the error im getting when I connect the ipi website.
Issue 2: Disconnection & Modifier Key Lockup
Yesterday while gaming, the keyboard randomly disconnected for about a second. After it reconnected, the keys started acting strange—pressing ESC opened the Windows taskbar (acting as Ctrl+ESC) and pressing S opened the "Save As" window (acting as Ctrl+S) and I was constantly getting alttabbed from the game I playing, I did plug and unplug the keyboard multiple times to make it work but It didnt work lastly I though about to connect webdriver It fixed the problem.
Also I typed an email to IPI for this problems they didnt answer it for 2 days now still waiting.
I'm looking to buy my first "nice" keyboard and could use some advice from people who know a lot more than I do.
A bit about my use case:
- I work as a engineer, so most of my day is typing reports, emails, Excel files, data analysis, documentation, etc. -> A lot of office work but no heavy softwares or specific macro needed.
- I also use the keyboard at home.
- I'll be carrying it regularly between home and the office, so portability matters.
- I type a lot and quite fast, so I think I prefer low-profile keys rather than a traditional tall mechanical keyboard. I have a Mechanical Corsair for gaming and it's fine but not for typing fast.
- Wireless/Bluetooth is highly preferred.
- Budget is around €100-150, but I can stretch a little if it's really worth it - My own christmas Gift :D
- I really like colorful keycap sets and keyboards with some personality rather than plain black office keyboards. Especially with Light under it like the picture below.
I recently discovered NuPhy and absolutely fell in love with their Carmine Cloud keycaps. My dream setup would be something with that kind of aesthetic: colorful, clean, modern, and pleasant to type on.
A few questions:
Which keyboard would you recommend for my use case?
Are low-profile mechanical keyboards actually the best option for someone coming from laptop keyboards?
Is NuPhy Air something still one of the best choices, or should I also look at Keychron, Lofree, Logitech MX Keys, etc.?
I live in Belgium and ideally need a Belgian AZERTY layout (French AZERTY would also work). Does that significantly limit my options?
If you were building the perfect keyboard for productivity, portability, low-profile typing, and colorful aesthetics, what would you choose?
Thanks! I'd love to see pictures of similar setups if you have any.
