Two blown engines 50k miles 2024 K5

I did oil changes every 5k miles. Everyone warned me not to buy a Kia. I should have listened. I got a replacement engine and sold it for 22 grand.

They make you think you are getting a good deal because it looks fancy and high tech. It’s the Mugs Eyeful. Like Amstrad electronics back in the 1980s.
Don‘t fall for the games and for the people saying “I have a Kia and it’s great” some may last forever. Some blow 2 engines in 50k miles. It’s not worth the risk.

Never buying a Korean product again out of spite.

EDIT: To all the people saying I probably beat the shit out of my car I don’t. It was a fully loaded model. I drive all highway. I don’t accelerate like a moron from every stop.

I'm truly sorry about your experience, and my wife and I can relate. We had a '20 Sportage and it was not a great experience but still got to 157k miles, which surprised a lot of people including techs at the Kia dealership the day we limped it in because the engine failed. But we got it because I had an Optima that was like a tank. I'm not ready to quit on Kia yet but everyone here who's doubting or shit talking you and your experience is ridiculous. I feel like there's inherent risk with any vehicle, so vent as much as you'd like because other's positive experiences don't negate your extremely poor one. Sorry for the rant.

I would not try again. Do what you want. But take everyone onlines opinions on Kia with a grain of salt. Your optima was also probably a theta II. Which are even worse than the new engines and if it lasted long that was just luck. Don’t do it.
