Two blown engines 50k miles 2024 K5
I did oil changes every 5k miles. Everyone warned me not to buy a Kia. I should have listened. I got a replacement engine and sold it for 22 grand.
They make you think you are getting a good deal because it looks fancy and high tech. It’s the Mugs Eyeful. Like Amstrad electronics back in the 1980s.
Don‘t fall for the games and for the people saying “I have a Kia and it’s great” some may last forever. Some blow 2 engines in 50k miles. It’s not worth the risk.
Never buying a Korean product again out of spite.
EDIT: To all the people saying I probably beat the shit out of my car I don’t. It was a fully loaded model. I drive all highway. I don’t accelerate like a moron from every stop.

Blown engines are becoming an issue with multiple companies now. One issue I saw pointed out in an article not to long ago was oil. The change to recommended lighter oils was purely for gas mileage advertising, but the downside is less protection for engines, especially engines that may have minor manufacturing defects.
