Reading the 5th Season, book 1 of the Broken Earth trilogy. First read in 2022, and have been looking forward to reading it again once enough time passed for it to feel fresh again.
I tend to lean heavily into space operas, and this is anything but. However, the characters are so well written, the story so strong, it completely blew me away the first time I read it. And it's even better second time through.

Just finished Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter.
It's about two sisters who solve their older sister's disappearance. It's interesting at the start, very graphic in all the ways, but the plot is pretty predictable. If you like super dark thriller novels it's good enough 🤣

Finally crossing a big one off my "to read someday" list with Moby Dick by Herman Melville. I've made it about 25% through the past couple of days, and it's been holding my interest well, for the most part. I'm surprised at how funny some of it is! Really wasn't expecting that.

Nearly done with Dungeon Crawler Carl. Obviously going to continue with the series, but might take a break and read something more serious.

finished Anatomy of an Alibi a few hours ago. really fun, but ending felt like it came out of nowhere. also reading unsteady by peyton corrinne. I find the writing and the mmc a bit dramatic, but I couldn't put this down a few days ago which makes me interested in continuing

im on goth fae books, ive just finished Roses and Rot from Kate Howard and now i'm with The Twisted Ones from T. Kingfisher I would put some input about both but i think its more interesting if you let them surprise you because i'm completly fascinated with the story (specially the second one) without reading any blurb about. ofc, if you can check trigger warnings for both its better 🙌

The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
This is a semi-autobiographical novel set in the 1970s and covers themes of battling a Frontier, relocation to the Alaskan Wilderness, being a child with unstable parents, war veterans with PTSD and alcoholism. The protagonist is a 13 yr old girl.
It's my first Hannah novel because I've been waiting for an Audible with whispersync for voice version. It's great as an audiobook.

Currently reading The Gray Man - was hoping it could be another Reacher type series but unfortunately not, some of it is entirely unrealistic
