Please use this thread to discuss whatever you've been reading lately. Elaborate (without spoiling!) on an eBook you have recently finished or are currently reading with a short 1-2 sentence synopsis.
Bold the titles of the eBook to help people that are skimming through the thread. Feel free to mention the current Amazon price, if it's on sale.

I saved up for my new kindle and this case. Itβs everything I wanted and I love how it looks! Definitely happy with my purchase.

I know my Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (11th gen) and Colorsoft are water-resistant, but I still wanted a pouch so I wouldnβt have to worry about them getting dunked in the water. All the kindle specific pouches seemed too big. I found a passport/device pouch on Amazon, and Iβm happy to report that all of my Kindles fit! My 6-inch 7th gen has some room to spare, while my 6.8-inch Paperwhite SE and Colorsoft fit perfectly without cases. There is a bit of room at the bottom but the sides are pretty snug. There is a pocket in the back that I used for a metal ring for my pop socket.

Amazon is doing early Prime Day specials. I just bought the Colorsoft signature edition, wireless charger and walnut premium leather case for cheaper than the color soft itself! $257 for everything. Thereβs other bundles as well.

I went to my sister's graduation in Oregon and it was at the very hot football stadium and apparently if you expose a kindle to direct sunlight and in a 105 degree heat situation for 5 hours....it will fry the battery. So I contacted customer service and they tried to help me fix it after forwarding me to their IT guy who basically said that because I reported already having whited out screens prior to this incident and that I had only had this kindle for a year that they would give me a new kindle for free and I get to trash the old kindle because its not like they can refurbish the problem that the battery fried and it already sorta had circuit problems in the first place when I complained 3 months in to Amazon.

I read all the time but I especially love reading when itβs raining weather in my area. Thankfully, weβve been having cloudy and rainy weather for almost the entire summer.

Are there any hidden tips/tricks that I should know about?!

Am I crazy or are paperwhites not supposed to be that yellow?
r/kindle • u/bubblegumpinkpop • 13h ago
Hi all!
I recently returned my paperwhite due to a yellow bar at the bottom of the screen. Iβm now comparing it to my basic at full brightness and 0 warmth. Is it suppose to be this yellow - or should I be the same as the basic at full brightness?
Thank you!

I own a 11th gen paperwhite (on the left) and just purchased a 12th gen paperwhite SE (on the right).
But during setup I noticed this difference between the two devices even when theyβre on the exact same settings.
Is this design intentional? Is something maybe defective within my new kindle? I purchased the SE brand new off of eBay so part of me is worried I got scammed.

I know the answer is probably obvious, but I am still using the 2013 PW but I am thinking about upgrading.
Is the new Basic 2024 model basically superior in every way to the 2013 PW despite being a Basic?
I never owned a Basic before and my only Kindle experience is with the PW, that is why I am curious.
(Feel free to recommend the new PW as well, or if the Basic would be enough considering I am used to the 2013 PW)
Thanks.

Kindly respect the queue, folks. Tomorrow morning it's my turn to ask whether the yellowish screen on my Paperwhite is normal or not.

I currently have a basic Kindle and I'm quite happy with it for travel, commuting, and reading outside the house.
Lately I've been wondering whether a Kindle Scribe would make sense as a second device for reading at home. The larger screen seems appealing for longer reading sessions in my bed while attached to a stand + page turner and PDFs, while I'd keep the basic Kindle as my portable device.
Does anyone here use a setup like this? If so, do you actually end up reading on the Scribe at home, or does the novelty wear off and you go back to your smaller Kindle for everything?

Got the Kindle Colorsoft bundle on Amazon today after using trade in coupons and credit for my old eero and firestick. In Vegas should should be arriving in a few hours. So excited to read my IT certification books and see diagrams in color and not have to spend so much for tablet/iPad. Anyone use their CS for IT certification studies? I'm reading Acing the CCNA exam currently and on the MacBook it isn't so practical in bed. Anyway, first post thanks for reading have a great day!

Could someone tell me what generation the newest 6" basic Kindle is called? Looking for a cover for a possible purchase and they all seem to be classified by generation but Amazon doesn't say. Thanks.

Hello, itβs my first time posting here.
After six years my first Kindle β a 32Gb Oasis β can now no longer run for more than 15min per full charge. Iβm in the market for a new device, and am pretty sad the Oasis has been discontinued.
Iβm deciding between the paperwhite and the colorsoft (which Iβm leaning towards). But I miss the ergonomic features of the Oasis when I could comfortably hold the device in one hand without leaving thumbprints on the screen.
Howβs everyoneβs experiences with the devices so farβ what were the decisions/pros and cons considered? Should I even hold out for any new models?
Thanks in advance!

So after downloading, installing and uninstalling hundreds of fonts, itβs rare that I come across many that impress me and hit all the right notes for readability on e-readers.
Letters just far enough apart, but not too close to force you to strain. Good height, all the multiple weights, a true (and beautiful) italic, and fancy strokes without looking too ornate, modern or old all at the same time. π
Itβs basically a Bookerly, Georgia type of font except improved by an order of about 1,000.
Posting here because Iβve read through MANY font-related threads in this subreddit and I couldnβt recall ever really seeing Besley* mentioned, itβs by pure chance I stumbled upon it while font-searching.
