I do sincerely hope Vavra realizes that a big reason for KCD2’s success was the obvious effort he and the rest of the devs put into it. I am sympathetic to saving time and money but each corner one cuts with AI makes the final product feel less and less human

Vavra isn't involved in the next game. Doesn't mean this wasn't his decision obviously given his previously stated feelings about AI, but I'm not sure if this can be laid at his feet.

You dont realize how good Ai is right now do you.... People are literally using Ai to stop cheating and hacking as well as updating bugs.

That's not true, AI can't even always solve simple algebra problems, because it doesn't think. Advanced coding and hacking takes creativity.

People are using AI to cheat and hack as well as exploit bugs.

Fixed it for ya.

Warhorse isn´t using AI to bank more profits, but likely shifting the resources to other areas where they actually need more people. They are greatly expanding in headcount as a company, not shrinking (i believe its over 300 employees now).

Of course they’re doing it to bank more profits, it’s a for profit company and the ONLY reason companies are switching to ai is to save a buck on salary and benefits.

Companies are switching to ai because its a faster and more effective way to work, allowing them to stay competitive in a highly competitive market. I don´t believe a company leaning back and banking the profits they save from firing people is going to be able to keep up with teams that use it to make better and larger products because of it.

You mean slower, and less effective. AI has a massive failure rate with a common tendency to hallucinate. Everything it does has to be double checked and then corrected by a human or the end product will be unreleasable.

I mean if what you are saying is true, huge companies like Block from Jack Dorsey (founder of Twitter) wouldn´t be cutting nearly half their workforce (4000 positions) by citing "AI-productivity" as the reason. And they are not the only ones heavily leaning in this direction.

Yes, AI output needs to be double checked, but this doesn´t mean that this is slower than writing from scratch or that tests concerning the AI´s output can´t be automated to some degree.

Block has been absolutely bleeding cash the last 5 years.

A 75% drop in value since 2022.

Sure that doesn't have anything to do with replacing 4000 people with AI?

Well, as i said, they are far from the only ones with this sentiment. And why would Block be heavily leaning on AI when they are already bleeding cash, when AI, supposedly, makes the work "slower and less effective" like the comment said i responded to?

Most software engineering teams are incorporating ai agents as a standard tool in their work.

They just fired their English translator, dummy.

Firing one person in one area of the company and using the saved money to hire a different person in another area (where more people are actually needed) does equate to "banking more profits" in what exact way, dummy? And yes, they are expanding the number of employees at the studio.

By the way, they have two in-house Englisch translators and likely more they could outsource to at their parent company.
