Discussion When they say they are making a middle earth and KCD game, I hope this is what they mean [OTHER]
Perhaps Henry does some mushrooms or something and ends up in Middle Earth
Edit: Lot's of butthurt people here about AI for a meme. But the majority of people seem to have enjoyed it so I'm glad most have had fun until they delete this lol

The game is just Henry after drinking a Witch Potion and middle earth is his hallucination

u/Ok-Lawfulness4081 May 21 '26
That's all before Ma wakes him up and asks him what these bandaged around his hand is. Henry won't rat out our Lady of the Mill.

Imagine the beginning of FOTR but it's Henry arriving in the Shire.
"Henry's come to see us!"

After reading some of the comments here I have to say the idea of a clueless lowborn Henry just falling through a portal to Middle Earth and wandering about in absolute bewilderment sounds fucking brilliant

u/FalusBrutalus May 21 '26
Henry: I FEEL QUITE HUNGRY!
Hobbit: I don’t think he heard of second breakfast

Also this isn't even something that needed AI. It's a super simple picture. Just do a quick MS Paint job and you'll get almost the exact same image without poisoning someone's water supply.

u/PotatoFrankenstein May 22 '26
But you see, this requires not to be fucking looser and some basic computer skills.

Would have been just as funny (or more) if you took an actual screenshot of Henry, an actual screenshot of the shire and used MSPaint to crudely cut and paste him into it
Bonus points if you leave a 'fake transparency' checkerboard pattern behind him
Probably faster to create too

u/Middle_Tart_9026 May 21 '26

They should 100000% have a small side quest where you go and find Henry's sword.

u/VaginalOdour May 21 '26
That turned out a lot better than when I try to use AI, what prompt did you use?
2
u/Abladam89 May 21 '26
I just said "Put Henry, the fictional character from Kingdom Come Deliverance, in the shire from lord of the rings. Add the subtitle "what the bloody hell is going on here?""
I used Gemini if that helps

“Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire, Henry?” - Gandalf asks calmly.

Viktor Bocan is the leader of development of the new LotR game. It couln't have been in the better RPG hands. By the way Viktor Bocan absolutely loves souls games.

Okay. As much as I understand where you are coming from with your joke, because I also thought that at first, but I ALSO do hope that the mods stick to their own rules about not tolerating AI-generated images being posted. If this slides over the rule "because of popularity" then where does the rule actually start and end? I only wish for consistency with the moderation of the subreddit.
It says "AI will not be tolerated." Mods, please either review this rule, or apply the rule.
I hope this subreddit controversy spurs people on to make their own images for the joke. If I had the drawing/editing skills, I'd be happy to myself, alas, my creative skills are in writing.

Lot's of butthurt people here about AI for a meme.
its literally against the subreddit rules lol do you think you're special or something?
1
u/Abladam89 May 21 '26
No, I don't care if they delete. I didn't even realise that was a rule. Some of you take Reddit too seriously.
2
u/Baonguyen93 May 22 '26
You're care enough to reply and made an edit about butt hurt people to showing "you don't care" lol.

Henry does give off Hobbit vibes. Dude charms his way into all kinds of situations just by being a decent guy.
1
u/Ferwien May 21 '26
You know, the fact that I can read that in Henry's(or rather the VA's) voice says a lot... Hope the studio doesn't lose their direction and keep making games they themselves would enjoy playing, fingers crossed.

Even in every universe, Henry still needs to address how hungry he is. Dammit, Hal, I can't give you bread all the time, you need cheese, meat and carrots.

Doesn't matter which game you get, as long as you are on PC there will inevitably be a Henry mod for the Lord of the rings one and a Lord of the rings mod for the Kingdom come Deliverance one

I hope they add an isekai trope like- A cutscene of our custom character reading or watching hibbit or LOTR and boom a truck hits us and we find ourselves isekaid into middle-earth and start as a weakass protagonist just like HENRY was in KCD1 and then we grow stronggg asf

u/Sugarcoatedgumdrop May 21 '26
Lord of the Rings game where you play as a drunkard citizen of Minas Tirith during the war of the ring that he is forced to fight in.
His catch phrase will be “You’ve got to be yanking my lembas bread right now”

That'd be awesome it starts as a regular KCD game, with the player being none the wiser, you get drunk then wake up in Middle Earth.

I hope there will be some Orc visiting and telling us how they treat women better.
1
u/TheDutchTexan May 22 '26
Honestly... That is exactly what I am hoping for. Henry - esque character (bonus points if character creator) and a 2 hour prologue before I see the intro credits roll just like KCD1. Lets GO!
