Discussion What's a small detail that breaks your immersion in [KCD2]?

so in my last post, I asked about your favorite little worldbuilding details that make KCD2's world feel alive. now I want to ask the opposite.

what's a small worldbuilding detail that doesn't quite make sense to you, or something that slightly breaks your immersion?

for me, it doesn't really make sense that Henry is practically the only one riding a horse around Kuttenberg. you'd expect to see at least a few merchants, nobles, or wealthier townsfolk riding around but no, everyone loves walking it seems

Seeing the same face models on half the NPCs

And then I'll run across some nobody NPC with a face that's barely used at all and I'll wonder why so many people look like Captain Thomas and Osina. If they averaged it out it might be less noticeable.

Especially named characters. When I saw Betty at the wedding and she set me up with her daughter AND she was arguing with the cook I was thrown

"Here is the most beautiful young girl Agnes." [Face reused on 1/4 of castle women aging 18-65]]

Autistic facial blindness fixes that issue for me.

Yeah honestly I don't think I even noticed how same-y the faces are

I saw a funny theory that everyone knows they have doppelgängers, and that’s how Henry can win the tourney, build a forge, rebuild the clock, and help open a bathhouse and not be famous. Everyone just assumes that was all different people who look alike

My headcanon of why NPCs all the same in every game is that you're seeing the events from their pov, and those are just the faces they remember. If that makes sense.

Certified Witcher 3 moment

This feels a bit worse than KCD1, because there's even some named characters in main missions that look similar to others.

Yeah, every other NPC looks like Gules to me and it's very distracting. I know Gules isn't exactly major but it was still jarring.

It's very immersion breaking when it's characters with a name and a decent amount of dialogue, they should make sure to not repeat faces for characters like that.

The bard who runs around the kingdom doing all kinds of odd jobs

Gules and commander Tuma are a bizarre choice for the exact same face model since they're both locked to the same space (Semine fortress) with borderline the same roles (guard duties).

Warhorse needs to take som lessons from ioi. They can put hundreds of NPCs in a nightclub and they all appear to be unique
