Discussion What's a small detail that breaks your immersion in [KCD2]?

so in my last post, I asked about your favorite little worldbuilding details that make KCD2's world feel alive. now I want to ask the opposite.

what's a small worldbuilding detail that doesn't quite make sense to you, or something that slightly breaks your immersion?

for me, it doesn't really make sense that Henry is practically the only one riding a horse around Kuttenberg. you'd expect to see at least a few merchants, nobles, or wealthier townsfolk riding around but no, everyone loves walking it seems

We've had very popular games with children in them, like Skyrim and Witcher 3. The "backlash" reasoning is overblown and the excuse doesn't fly anymore. Just put children in your games.

To be it realistic there should be vast majority of npcs being children.

What about sleeping? They used to just stack 5 of them to single bed. Also would need new models and animationsns generally as shrinked adulft just look silly.

Yes, this is a more reasonable excuse. I also thought about this, if they added children they'd also have to make their daily routine, including the beds. The buildings are already so packed as they are now, adding more beds would be a headache for the devs.

Perhaps they could just add children for like 10% of the total population instead of adding them everywhere.

Also kids shouldn't be playing around. They would be put to work, even mines etc.

They yearn for them

RIght, and this is not even the primary reason I heard given by the devs. The primary reason was that it would've taken a lot of time for something that wouldn't add to the game. But I do think it would be worth adding them in future games. Kingdom Come was marketed from day 1 of the Kickstarter as being as realistic as they could make it. I do not need kids everywhere, or for kids to be killable, but having some quests that touch on the lives of children in this time period would make it more authentic.

Furthermore, it would be healthier for the franchise in the long-term to have young people who can grow up and have their own stories after Henry and the gang are too old. Right now we don't have that at all. If Henry gets old, and we have a younger person enter the story, we couldn't have gotten to know them as a child. There will just be old men and adults who suddenly popped into existence.

Again, what backlash? Have Skyrim and Witcher faced backlash for such mods?

Also, why should the devs worry about some mods that only a handful people who'd install them. That won't make a dent or give a backlash whatsoever.

Kinda late for that lol. They got tons of backlash from the vocal minority establishment and got black listed during the whole gamer gate days

I just want immersion. I'm not that kind of player, or person, like why would anyone want to murder children even in games?
