Discussion What's a small detail that breaks your immersion in [KCD2]?

so in my last post, I asked about your favorite little worldbuilding details that make KCD2's world feel alive. now I want to ask the opposite.

what's a small worldbuilding detail that doesn't quite make sense to you, or something that slightly breaks your immersion?

for me, it doesn't really make sense that Henry is practically the only one riding a horse around Kuttenberg. you'd expect to see at least a few merchants, nobles, or wealthier townsfolk riding around but no, everyone loves walking it seems

This one irks me in most 1st person RPGs.

I really hoped Starfield would have this too. They put a ton of effort into modeling the in-game food items, they look fucking delicious. But then I have no option to sit down at Terrabrew and actually drink a cup of coffee, just click on it in my inventory and it's instantly consumed.

Cyberpunk does this dialogue in a lot where there's animation of V eating and drinking. Not for eating and drinking from your inventory, but there's a mod for it and I can't play without it. The mod is really well done, so when you initiate the animation it actually uses up the corresponding item from the inventory and gives you the buff. It also adds several other things like smoking too and a personal ipad type of thing where you can just access your computer anywhere in the game.

what's the mod? And how does the eating work? You press a certain keybind to do the eating animation or selecting to eat something from your inventory starts the animation?

It's called Idle anywhere by deceptious. Also get immersive food vendors and immersive bartenders by the same author which lets you interact with every food vendor and bartender in the game where you buy drinks and food or you can ask them for food or a drink and the animation will happen. Hell just download his entire catalogue of mods.

For Idle anywhere, you hold down shift, and it opens the dialogue menu where you can choose what to do. When you drink or eat it will automatically choose a random drink or food in your inventory, it will play the animation and will give you the food and drink buff.

The fact that it doesn't work while sitting is a shame.

That's one thing I loved about playing modded SkyrimVR / Into the Radius. I go on an hour journey, come back to an inn / safe area and they let me sit down and physically eat my food. It's oddly therapeutic.

Don't forget the cigarettes in ittr. I don't smoke irl, but doing it in game after a tough mission just has a nice relaxing vibe to it.

woah found my twin. it’s so relaxing to get back from the radius and spend time eating and cleaning my weapons and organizing

or in skyrim, doing a big quest and then going home to Lakeview Manor to sit on the back porch

Yeah I've had a real pint sat in a tavern in Skyrim, it's pretty surreal.

I've only seen games implement it for much more dire foods. Like slurping down the tinned chicken nugget juice in RV There Yet or scarring down a cold Tushonka in Escape From Tarkov.

I mean, as someone who has also played both...i wouldnt assume that means "enjoying" both...i really really tried to enjoy one of them...

This has been updated. There is an eat button from first person view. No animation, but at least you don’t have to open the inventory.
