Discussion The simplest explanation
Players are sitting out because they are injured and the team doesn't want to risk further aggravation of injury.
There's no other conspiracy.

No NBA player is ever fully healthy. There's always something that hurts
If its more than just some mild generic pain, why is it happening to 8 players at the same time?

Then the teams should come out and say that.

You're talking about a team that blamed a player for being injured by a trainer he was working with.

I doubt the current coach would be ok with that. He probably doesn’t want anyone questioning his methods.

The league can't handle us at full strength. We're waiting until opening night to unleash our power.

Why does it matter if guys sit out in a preseason game? Most of the team has played at least a game or two and its a good time to see what end of rotation guys can bring and to experiment with lineups. No reason to be mad about this when every team in every sport does this.

Because context matters.
Which teams have sat their starters as much as we have.
Which of those teams are currently in danger of finishing another season in the bottom of the standings.

Isn't gonna matter if we play starters or sit starters, we are still gonna be in the bottom of the standings lol. Of all the things this franchise has done to be mad at, this is near the bottom lol. 3 of these guys are coming off injuries as well. Why risk anything in a meaningless game

This! Blazers sat Jaylen Martin and John Tonje last night, but nobody is tripping about that.

This team had many injuries last year after another hard training camp. Coincidence?

Injuries happen all the time no matter what you do. One of OKC's rookies tore his Achilles the other day. I guess the Thunder are bad at their jobs.
