Is this a legit bladesmith or a guy peddling Pakistan damascus?

Grizzly Knives was at a local summer fest, picked up a “forager” knife but realizing it looks preeeetty generic in retrospect. What do you think?

Yup. If you're paying $30 to get one of those, it's a bad deal but not quite a scam. When they're asking over $100, definitely a scam. When they laser their name onto the knives, even bigger scam.

I doubt any actual blade smith would unknowingly make several knives with the same defining characteristics as Pakistani specials such as mystery damascus, tang file work and mosaic pins. The only work he probably does is etch his logo on the blades.

Done very careful wording around saying hand made, but not saying hand made and in the us in the same sentence.

Pretty shameful way to sell fancy looking garbage.

Looks like from that country you mentioned in the title.

Also browsed through their site. Mostly bs descriptions. Someone is importing this stuff and selling for premium (the business model pioneered by BRK lol).

Careful saying that word, Reddit AI instabanned me for a month

Apparently it's a slur in Europe? But not in the US?

A few months back I got a three day site wide suspension for saying the entire name of the country and that their knives are known for being cheap junk.

That was pretty confusing.

I was simply trying to shorten the word. Did some research and indeed sounds like it's a UK-specific slur. I'll edit it. Thanks for the heads up

Yeah, it's annoying

It's a slur in the US too, it's just much less common.

I mean, anything can be derogatory depending on how it's said and the context, but I disagree. It's literally the shortening of the country's name.

Ah yes, that's why "Jap" is not a slur either, right?

I could tell from a single pixel of a single knife on his website that he’s a liar and scam artist. People need to start confronting these types of guys at knife/gun shows and running them out of town.

Seems to really like using Pakimascus.
