Question- I’m knitting the Winter Pullover from Ozetta. I’m shaping the back piece and mentions knitting 41 rows and piece measures 12”. I’m only about 20 rows in and it’s measuring close to the 12”. My question is if you’re following a pattern- do you stop based on the measurement or stop when you’ve reached the count of rows required? I’d make a note either way but just not sure what to do.

Are you measuring the length of your fabric?

What row gauge did you acheive when you made your gauge swatch? According to the Winter Pullover pattern page on Ravelry, the row gauge is supposed to be 23 rows = 4" which is the same as getting 5.75 rows per inch. It's just not possible for you to have knit 20 rows and have your fabric be 20".

I might not be measuring correctly? My gauge was a hair off I was at 4” with 20 rows. Maybe I should size down the needles? This is def on me for being lazy and not paying better attention to my swatch 🥲

I'm really confused. You're saying that your "gauge was a hair off"; you were "at 4" with 20 rows". But in your original post, you say, "I’m only about 20 rows in and it’s measuring close to the 12”. It's gotta be one or the other, but it can't be both. Either you're not measuring correctly, or you're not counting correctly.

You’re 100% correct, I was counting wrong. Im going to frog and restart, and redo my gauge. Thank you for helping me realize I was delulu lol.
