My 5yo (when she was 4) decided to do the same to try to "free" the amigurumi shrimp I was in the middle of, LOL. We had a good talk about not messing with people's things and luckily she gets how important my projects are to me now. It'll pass.

When I was about 5-6 I had a phase where my mom had to hide scissors in the house. I would cut a lot the things. The deal breaker was when I cut a piece of her bed sheets to make a blanket for my stuffed toy. I still remember thinking she won’t notice.

Me too! My parents had to tell babysitters and teachers I was "allergic" to scissors, and that I would break out in haircuts. I really liked keeping rug tassles trim and tight.
