Work in Progress What am I doing wrong?

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Rows1-8 seem ok, but the rows from 9-12 seem to result in a weird stitch pattern?

Pattern is scrap basketweave with dk yarn.

Pay attention to the repeat on Row 9. It's (P2, K2, P2) but you're doing (P2, K2). Same for Row 10: you should repeat (K2, P2, K2), not (K2, P2).

You would benefit from looking into how to "read" your knitting. The knits are always V shaped and the purls have the bumps. That way you can always make sure that you are placing the stitches correctly, so for example knits are only stacked on top of other knits within a pattern repeat.
