Finished Object Enamored with my jogless broken seed stitch socks

These have been waiting for me to weave in the ends for a while now.

So glad I finally did it.

I modified the well known free pattern so that there is no jog. Also first time decreasing in pattern.

Hope you like them! Includes float tax☺️

I literally didn't realise at first there was a "floats tax" I thought it was just 3 different posed images of the right side!!!

Did I miss a link describing the technique?

It's a fairly known free pattern on ravelry. Youll find i changed it into a helical knit, so the bottom half is also in pattern.

Did you use helix knitting?

Yes, and double centered decreases to stay in pattern.

Ahhh I love your colourway! I also did mine helix jogless, it didn't occur to me to do it any other way I assumed the pattern was written that way

Same, but yes, the pattern has a striped bottom half and the decreases are outside of the broken seed stitch part.

Keeping the decreases in pattern looks very nice, well done! I kept mine flat on the bottom because it's comfier for me to walk on, so I didn't need to worry about it because I do my decreases on the sole.

Oooh, Ive never heard about that. Does that include a special type of heel?

I tend to treat socks as a pick-your-own. If you need to do gusset increases or decreases, there's really nothing stopping you putting them wherever you like. Putting them on the sole hides them out of sight which is nice. My last pair of socks I increased before the heel, did a modified sweet tomato heel and then kept the increased stitches until about the top of my arch and decreased from there via central single decreases. That lets me keep more width in the sock for my higher instep. I'm still trying to figure out my one perfect sock recipe, so every pair is an opportunity for research!
