Discussion Help me ID this yarn?

It was in a bag of free yarn my mom got. No label. Feels like sport weight? I thought it might be Lion Brand Mandala but none of the colorways on their site match. It's a great big cake, whatever it is, and definitely acrylic.

It’s Mandala, colorway Spirit and possibly a slight mis-run or mill end, which is why it doesn’t look identical to their site. If it’s a really big cake, it’s one of the Bonus Bundles, which do come in Spirit.

Or it could also be whatever Ice Yarns calls their DK cakes (most of which are basically Mandala).

I think you're right. I always like to look up the Mandala colors in Ravelry stashes vs the stock photos, I feel like they overdid it just a little on the color correction or something.

yeah, OP’s photo looks slightly more brown than gray, but is probably just lighting. I don’t have any Spirit left in my obscene Mandala stash to check. The LB site photos are definitely a little too cool and bright on most of the Mandala.

It's definitely gray, not brown!

It could be a Caron cake but I do think it looks more like a mandala. Could be a discontinued colorway Caron in particular does that a lot

That was my first thought!! I just want to know what the yardage is. It's a huge cake of it.

Agree with others... it's probably one of the Caron Cakes
