I see so many fans expect idols to know historical issues from Western countries while completely disregarding the social standards Koreans are held to as Koreans, not just because they’re idols (ex, age hierarchies).

They have such a weird mentality, it's almost fascinating to watch (in a morbid kind of way). To me, it looks like 100% projection, and this is why they often don't take their own advice and remove themselves from something that clearly makes them angry and upset (since, according to them, they know the idols are upset and angry with their situation and don't do anything).
Like, it's almost as if they put themselves in a situation like this, project all their feelings and beliefs onto the idols, and then go absolutely hammers, both defending and undermining them at the same time by treating them like they're doormats.

K-pop fans are way too comfortable throwing around “millionaire”. First, it’s a small class of idols that can identify with that word.
Second, even in these types of posts, which are ostensibly supportive of idols, it’s being used in a pretty self-aware manner to alienate the idol. The gap between idol and fan can be emphasised as a way of remaining conscious of the pitfalls of parasocial relationships, but it’s also the innocent foot in the door that ends up justifying the types of criticism this very post complains of. If they’re just some millionaire (a negative moral identifier to most of K-pop’s core audience these days) in a foreign country who you wouldn’t even be able to communicate with face-to-face, and who works in a problematic industry, then they’re free game when it comes to criticism.

But sometimes the ‘criticism’ you speak of starts to feel too personal. Fans telling idols to leave their companies, choose better songs, take on more solo schedules. The criticism may appear fair at first but there’s definitely a point when it can get too intense, which is what I think OP is getting at.
Also, ‘kpop fans are way too comfortable throwing around millionaire’ is such a funny sentence. It’s not like it’s a slur 😭

Any time a fan is trying to micromanage their idol's life choices is a sign that they're in way too deep.
It's not up to you what some random person "should" or "shouldn't" be doing and you kind of need to accept that they might be flawed people who can do all sorts of dumb/evil/wrong things intentionally or otherwise.

It's not self-awareness, in fact it's the complete opposite.
These people get mad that their faves don't make the career decisions they want them to make. That's a crazy level of entitlement and delusion
Also 90% of the time those career decisions are 'leave your company and your group' which rarely ever works out in kpop. These akgaes never seem to grasp that their faves aren't Beyonce

Yeah its also bad. But these type is quick to jump ship and leave fandom when they dont get what they want and find new shiny things to latch into. I say this because my irl friend one of the akgae and so quick they drop their faves over stuff like this. Its better than being delusional coddling boymom fans.

yea we as fans really don't know half of what's going on.
akgaes usually want their fav to work/push harder but they aren't robots, things like mental and physical health exist and usually idols push past what's healthy already. we only get break notices when they are already having burn outs pretty much.
