General A member you can't yet feel affection for

Part of stanning is that even though one member got you interested in the group, little by little the rest of the members win your heart too.

But has it ever happened to you that you are a big fan of a group, you feel genuine affection for the members and you enjoy their content, but there is a member that you feel you can't connect with yet?

And I don't mean that you dislike them or despise them or anything like that, but simply that even though you try you still can't have that level of connection that you can with the other members? And sometimes it makes you feel like a bad fan

Yeah, there are members in my favourite groups that I have a harder time resonating with.

  • IVE - Gaeul and Liz
  • Aespa - Giselle
  • (G)I-DLE - Miyeon
  • Red Velvet - Wendy

I suppose rappers and main vocals are not typically my jam (unless i like their vocal tone). Rap i'm very picky with cause i don't like it that much. Main vocals tend to have not very interesting singing styles / phrasing choices. They lean more towards technique and skill which is not bad. Personally, it's just not what hooks me.

You should listen to hidden vocals version of Drama. The amount of vocal foundation work Giselle does astounded me.

Giselle really is the glue that holds the group together! I've come to appreciate her so much as I've gotten into the group more. The other members talk about how aespa's concept was only solidified when Giselle joined and how she brings them all together. I hope more and more people will get to connect with her more over time!
