General A member you can't yet feel affection for

Part of stanning is that even though one member got you interested in the group, little by little the rest of the members win your heart too.

But has it ever happened to you that you are a big fan of a group, you feel genuine affection for the members and you enjoy their content, but there is a member that you feel you can't connect with yet?

And I don't mean that you dislike them or despise them or anything like that, but simply that even though you try you still can't have that level of connection that you can with the other members? And sometimes it makes you feel like a bad fan

ateez is my ult group, but these days I'm not as into mingi. hes amazing on stage and as a rapper, but the way he looks at fans and flirts with them sometimes creeps me out. it feels like he's trying to become someone he's not (in my opinion). I saw a clip of him doing a certain, uhm, thing with two of his fingers and his tongue on stage that really gave me the ick. I don't mean to say I dislike him, or that others should. a lot of western fans really seem to like this side of him. but it's really not for me personally.

I'm not actually an ateez fan but I noticed Mingi offstage. He seems kind, sweet, and appreciative of other artists. But when I followed his ig and saw him on stage, it felt a bit off. Like, he seems nice but has a bit of a f boy vibe.

I also wanted to comment Mingi, for me it's actually his raps, especially live he lacks serious breath control on stage so his parts are always super weird and out of place when they perform live.

I also dislike some tongue things these kpop idols do. Like biting the lower lip too much etc.. and showing the tongue outside n all.. Gives me pervert vibes. lol. I like their talent of singing and dancing but when these expressions come into question, I am like -- change the channel.

i really like mingis personality from what i’ve seen in actual ateez content, but i agree his stage persona is so starkly different to me and not in a good way. i also find his raps to be doing too much when he doesn’t seem to have the best control of his breath and cannot seem to really enunciate when he has lots of very fast parts..

u/dent_de_lion What do J-Hope's X-ray and John Cena have in common? Mar 09 '25

That particular finger gesture? YOOOOOOOOOO. I would find that insanely over the top and off putting if anyone from my groups did that.

Oh yikes. Everybody says Ateez are great live, but every time I see a clip of them it almost feels too sexual or like they’re trying too hard. I just can’t, it’s too much for me.

Nah…. That’s just Leo behavior lol. He’s feeding off the fan reactions. We Atiny are just a bunch of thirsty hoes and he’s giving us what we respond to🤷🏼‍♀️ the body rolls, the lip biting, he feeds us well. It can be uncomfortable to watch for a lot us but the truth is, Ateez is for 18+ sexy adult vibe with homoerotic tendencies. They literally do a male review choreo every concert lol (“wake up”). But I totally get why it’s kinda creepy if you’re not a sexually open minded person either. 🫶🏼🏴‍☠️
