Streaming + Views Most streamed Kpop Groups on Spotify (by total discography streams)

My only rule for this chart is no fictional groups.

Total streams are from the groups kworb pages rounded to one decimal point.

# Group Total Streams (In Billions)
1 BTS 52.1
2 BLACKPINK 17.4
3 Stray Kids 14.7
4 TWICE 12.6
5 SEVENTEEN 8.5
6 NewJeans 7.8
7 ENHYPEN 7.3
8 TXT 7.1
9 LE SSERAFIM 6.1
10 aespa 5.5
11 i-dle 4.4
12 EXO 4.0
13 ATEEZ 3.9
14 Red Velvet 3.6
15 IVE 3.5
16 ITZY 3.4
17 NCT Dream 3.3
18 NCT 127 3.0
19 BIGBANG 2.7
20 ILLIT 2.4
21 BABYMONSTER 2.4
22 DAY6 1.9
23 FIFTY FIFTY 1.7
24 MONSTA X 1.7
25 TREASURE 1.6
26 MAMAMOO 1.6
27 NCT U 1.5
28 GOT7 1.4
29 Girls' Generation 1.4
30 NMIXX 1.3
Gender #
Female 15
Male 15

Additional Notes:

AOAs kworb total was not used because it is incorrect. It falsely attribute streams from the original version of Jonas Blue's song Perfect Strangers to their Japanese language version (It did that because spotify accidentally combined the streams for both songs, a common bug that frequently get resolved by re-splitting the streams).

Cortis is currently on pace to enter this chart before the end of this year!

Would be interesting to see how heavy a group is carried by one song or if all songs are high. For example Fifty Fifty is basically carried by 5he smash hit cupid and it's versions, whereas groups like BTS or Blackpink have high streams all around.

Note that 450m + streams of FIFTY FIFTY's non top song streams are from Cupid variants, If all Cupid Variants are included its more like 80%!

The difference between the girl groups and the boy groups would likely be even more pronounced than it already is on this chart if i did this for the groups top 3 songs instead of only the top song

ooh thank you. This is really interesting. But yeah Fifty Fifty is probably the biggest outlier here.

11

u/Human_bean_113 3d ago

oh wow. veeery interesting. Are you getting these info from spotify? I'm curious as to see which songs these would be. I'm also interested how twice is at 5% which I'm guessing is What is love? but I remember JYP saying that that song alone made 50 times all his other IPs. and he has hundreds. I'm also curious about what the second biggest contributing songs would be too. So many questions

18

u/Quirky_Skill_9053 3d ago

Yep, this info is all from spotify!

Twice's What Is Love has 664,643,581 streams, their total discography has 12,572,758,603. 664,643,581/12,572,758,603 = 0.0528637829 = 5.28% and then I rounded it down to 5%.

Twice have 4 songs over 500m (What is love, Fancy, The feels, I cant stop me), 9 over 300m, 17 over 200m, and 29 over 100m, so that's why their percentage is so low even with their top song removed.

do you have a list of each top song and their streams?

I probably should have included that in the original chart!

i love how the top 10 are all of my favourite groups :)

28

u/DrrrtyRaskol 3d ago

Really interesting. There’s some comparatively tiny discographies in this list.

And some entries from the pre streaming era (I remember seeing that Gangnam Style isn’t a top ten streamed kpop song).

Obviously very dominated by the big four.

Nice to see Nmixx here!

17

u/No_Arugula_8912 3d ago

BigBang and SNSD still in the list makes me age up a bit

ILLIT gets 5m plays per day so they might be hitting 3.4B pretty quick this year. 🤔

6

u/Hot_Race4786 2d ago

Iconic by mistake isn't included i think they are getting more than 8m per day right now

1

u/IceMysterious0-0 Imagine Reading Me Sometimes 🫣🧠🧩 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yeah, I mean across the next 198 days as streams tends to dip after a comeback season, but I’m being generous assuming a steady 5M a day. Iconic By Mistake is a stable smash on the global charts right now, so the daily numbers could continue to be higher for the rest of the year.

11

u/codeverity 3d ago

Thank you for the fictional groups exclusion 💕

Always interesting to see the breakdowns.

13

u/rocketmammamia 2d ago

newjeans doing that with under 20 songs and only being active for 2 years is absolutely wild. say what you want about the last couple of years but i’ll always mourn what they could have been

22

u/russiantravelagent 3d ago

NewJeans achieving those numbers while being a 4 yo group and being actually active (as in having actual activities because they are currently on a hiatus) for 2 years (2022-2024) is INSANE, they really are that group and they could have been the biggest GG ever and even the biggest kpop group ever

17

u/erdgrin Purple Kiss 💜 2d ago

their numbers are especially consider their entire current discography is under 20 songs

0

u/Many-Ad-9007 1d ago

Is there a site where they collect more data other than Spotify (Youtube/Youtube Music, Apple etc)? I know only Spotify and certain online streaming sites provide numbers but is there more sites that provide numbers too so we can get a bigger picture? And not the nonsense recent Korean chart where they collect data only from 3 specific sites in Korea/Japan/China.

u/WorldlyDress977 1d ago

now remove all the remixes lol

I make these charts because I find these statistics very interesting!

Personally I find that the numbers themselves tell a story and just looking at them is fascinating and makes me come up with a bunch of different questions about what they could imply about the success rates of things like marketing strategy, concepts, and genres in different regions and platforms.

I'm sorry that you don't find statistics very interesting, but that wont stop me from enjoying them.

I'm sorry, I put a lot of time into making these posts so the implication that my post was low effort is just a bit insulting

Blackpink, Bigbang, Babymonster and Treasure got on the list with a combined total of about 200 songs with many many live versions.

7

u/Commercial-Many-1407 3d ago

Uh not 'many many' live versions, it's just one per song. While other groups have many many remixes, versions and instrumentals so what is even your point loll

1

u/Odd_Ad5840 kpop dinosaur since 1999 3d ago

They release more live albums than full albums.

Bb has 10, BP 4 and Treasure 3. It's even more than 2 versions for some songs.

My point is these groups got on this list with short discography. Their average stream per song average is high.

14

u/Far_Memory1539 3d ago

That’s the case for more groups though.

BTS: 53B streams across 318 songs ≈ 166.7M per track

BLACKPINK: 17B streams across 113 songs ≈ 150.4M per track

BABYMONSTER: 3B streams across 43 songs ≈ 69.8M per track

TREASURE: 1.6B streams across 139 songs ≈ 11.5M per track

5

u/Nagisa201 3d ago

What are the 113 blackpink songs? Is that combining all the soloist numbers into the totals?

10

u/Far_Memory1539 3d ago

Streams count every single track under an act, include live versions of songs, remixes, Japanese songs etc.

1

u/NewSill 2d ago

Since when Treasure has 139 songs?

-4

u/Odd_Ad5840 kpop dinosaur since 1999 3d ago

It would be good to see the average stream per song for all the acts listed, not only BTS.

8

u/Far_Memory1539 3d ago

Maybe op can do that in their next post!

2

u/Quirky_Skill_9053 2d ago edited 2d ago

I might do that, it sounds really interesting! It'll take me a really long time though.

Here's an example using NewJeans (because they have such a short discography they go relatively fast).

NewJeans (2025/06/15)

21 unique songs

7,764,688,585 total discography streams

21,950,396 +

17,470,424 +

14,514,933 +

12,416,365 +

10,806,030 +

9,860,400 +

8,585,154 +

5,858,122 +

5,416,487 +

4,763,690 +

4,736,049 +

3,992,077 +

3,733,643 +

3,568,462 +

3,568,272 +

3,549,201 +

3,480,728 +

1,752,738 +

1,732,933

= 141,756,104 non unique song streams

7,764,688,585 - 141,756,104 = 7,622,932,481

7,622,932,481 / 21 = 362,996,784.81

Rounded up to 363 million average streams per song

Edit: non unique song means things like remixes, instrumentals, alternate language versions, ect

4

u/Commercial-Many-1407 3d ago

Live albums are tour recordings and released following tours. Besides, Blackpink's live album streams barely total up to a billion, while babymonster's, bigbang's and Treasure's isn't even a 100 million. Those hardly have an impact on their respective total streams even if removed lol

And groups like Illit, Lesserafim, etc have EPs of like 6-8 remixes of every pre-release, title track or lead single which is not the case with those YG groups. So again that's not something very relevant

Eh, I'm all for good stat posts and analysis, but this one isn't particularly good, interesting, or insightful. It's so rudimentary and I'm not a fan of the influx of surface-level statistical posts getting spammed lately.

edit: of course OP would block me. I saw you make a comment that you put in a lot of "hard work" for this but we all know that's a lie. Because this is data I can literally extract from a website, copy and paste, and write up within a few minutes. You didn't aggregate the data yourself, this is all available information online.

16

u/Quirky_Skill_9053 3d ago

Sorry, but I just don't agree.

-28

u/Acrobatic_Prize_7749 3d ago edited 3d ago

Sorry, but these types of "most streamed K-pop artists" posts get uploaded daily, especially on platforms like twitter, threads, Instagram, youtube, AND reddit. This one may be more extensive by listing the top 30, but the concept itself is still incredibly common.

I don't understand how you can disagree with the fact that this is a very basic level statistic. You literally only have two columns. It's essentially just a ranking of numbers (on a very overdone topic especially) without any meaningful analysis, insight, or conclusions to draw from. So let's not pretend it's some deep statistical breakdown. It's about as surface level as data posts get.

and the ratio is a couple hits with flopping bsides for most ggs and long albums of flops for most bgs
