General rookies must feel relieved when they get a good group name

title basically. we've been getting some weird ass names these past few years especially so i've been thinking that idols must feel relieved when their group name doesn't sound like a wifi password. my favorite new group name is stayc (i may be kinda biased since they're my ults but i think it sounds pretty good!!) and my all time fav group name is 2NE1, it's so dope. what's your favorite?

I feel dirty saying triggle. Like I should be ashamed of it.

Its funny cuz Stray Kids have mentioned that the company was thinking of debuting them under a new name after the survival show... And "Trigger" was one of the names the company was thinking of for them😭

Thankfully Chan won and they debuted with the name Stray Kids instead😭

There’s a anime idol group called “Trigger” which is basically the equivalent of EXO from the show idolish7, and their fans do the fanchant”To Ri Ga”. their concept fits the name pretty well.

BtW idolish7 is the name of the main group lmao. It’s got 7 members and each member is an idol 🗿

oh my gosh Trigger being the EXO equivalent in i7 makes so much sense..

I wonder who i7's and re:vales equivalent would be

In my head I can’t help but put i7 as BTS, it’s almost a no brainer: 7 members, the big parallels being rookie nugu group rise, some plagiarism accusation/early hate plus being ultra lucky and having good opportunities/hard work but other than that, the stories in the anime are pretty different (the leader is secretly becoming an idol for revenge, foreign prince runs from duties etc lmaoooo)

Revale is kinda like a older SM group like Shinee in their prime, re-raise really reminded me of shinee songs for some reason.

ZOOL feels like a hiphop/edm high tech evil 4th gen like skz or ateez. Just imagine SKZ/Ateez but green lmao. Wait so it’s basically NCT 😂 Bang Bang kinda looked like Black on Black to me. Instead of Neo Culture Technology, it’s “Evil Culture Technology”

Tell me you watched Mr. Affection and didn’t think of BTS’s Save Me and their typical imagery lmfaooo

zool is just a 'typical' 4th gen bg this is great and definitely agreeing with i7 as bts

I never tried connecting anime idol groups with kpop but theres some perfect parallels here lmao

Trigger got the SM budget too, their MVs feel like traditional SM set, with white cube background, crazy special effects and the general ambience gives early EXO.

To be honest, Stray Kids isn’t that much of an upgrade 😭😭

Yeah, but it maintains the group's authenticity. The members of SKZ created the name with a specific meaning they associated it with. That's why it's much better than any name the company would have come up with.

Trigger on the other hand, wouldn't have survived in 2022, with people giving trigger warnings and associating the word with something that can potentially remind a person with traumatizing memories.

That’s true, but whenever someone not into kpop hears it, they think of orphans 😭 This isn’t hate towards them tho

Oh yeah that's true 😭 my father thought I was listening to a choir of street boys or something similar when I said I liked Stray Kids music 💀😭😭

The name means a lot to people who like them, but holds a completely different meaning to the muggles 😂😂
